Get it right. Its not todays gamers that are the problem.

Its todays generation of people. With the exception of a small minority, The majority of gamers are more lazy, less intelligent and anti social than ever before.

What do you blame ? Social media ? Fast food ? .... I blame the parents. Its stupid lazy people having stupid babies. And when thats not the case, Its normal people having normal babies, then said baby grows up to be a fat lazy slob who expects everything in life handed to him on a plate. Oh and its not his fault hes fat either, Its some genetic problem of course. Not because he doesnt move around much only to fill his face with rubbish.

Sounds like that closet should have its own atmospheric lighting and soundtrack. That's a magic closet!

Oh wow, Dungeon Master! I had that for the Atari ST. That game was ahead of its time, and not just because you could kill horrid giant worms, and then stock up on slices of them for your food source. Good times. That one, and Tunnels of Doom on the TI/99 computer were my favorite early "dungeon crawler" rpgs. To this day, I still have characters in current MMORPGs named 'Zokathra', in honor of the zo-kath-ra spell.

It really would be interesting to see if we lost the internet or even electricity for a week, it might make people more interesting....

....as I say hanging out on the internet instead of doing a damn thing I need to do.

    Guilty!

You realize thats impossible right, lol. This old vs young stuff gets old real quick. Yes, young people have entitlement issues due to the ease they skate by in this world from all the advancements afforded to them. But with that being said, the older generations act like young people have no problems at all, like they arnt suffering and having to deal with the fallout from all the policies set forth by the older generations.

And its proven by this thread, older gamers are all "modern gamers are dumb and lazy". And then you have the younger gamers going "The older gamers are too set in their beliefs and are just in the way". Enough. Like other guy just said, if you dont like a game, dont play it. But dont sit here talking about how people like me are everything thats wrong with gaming because that is equally as ignorant.

    Hi,

Not sure about tech going to fast, I do however find graphic cards a pain as there are so many and your always having to upgrade them so fast. And then find you have to wait at least 2 years before you can play games on max settings at reasonable fps even when their the latest thing out...lol..

But seriously there is a age gap with gamers which is increasing as the years go on....The older gamers now have families and bills and work, were as the younger gamers have more time on their hands...So in years to come the younger generation now will be the future casual gamer.. I always thought I'd love gaming till the day I drop...But due to work and other commitments I can no longer play for hours at a time...Not that I don't want to, just haven't got the time...So although I would like a challenge in games now and then...I don't want to be in the situation were I spend 4 hours solving one objective and and then having to spend another 6 hours solving another objective...Games have to have a beat to them, not slow moving, but not so fast you've finished them in 1 day either...It's finding the right balance..

I have the opinion it's "Experience" that matters most with a gamer.
What did they try, when did they try, how did they try, etc....

One thing that kinda gets me about technological advancement though......it's TOO fast. Needs to start giving people time to catch up. I think that's actually one of the causes for under appreciation of games. Newer gamers get distracted by only the technology improvements. Given the right technology the best of looking awesomely realistic games can be there.......but that's the only advantage they have to the prior.

Remakes are sometimes perfect examples of that.
    Take Megaman X for example
    Megaman X from the SNES
    vs
Megaman Maverick Hunter X remake done on the PSP which has wow.....3D graphics still done on a sidescrolling plain and some of the power ups are redistributed.
Same game but the remake on newer technology looks flashier and has an anime OP and voice acting.......though it is worth it for the unlockable character.

That is why it's a famous joke from long long ago.... that you didn't get....

I am under the impression you just want to cause conflict, so I will just let you stew cause I really don't think what you are saying is honest or genuine to the thread.

Crap yeah. That's why I love the thing.
Got collections of all sorts of junk from when I was younger.......comics, VHS tapes (sadly my player broke), classic console games, books (boxes of them.....heavy reader), camera and lighting equipment (ex photographer and lab tech), mechanical tools galore (ex mechanical engineer lacking degree), bokken, old PC software that modern machines won't even run anymore, my old first custom computer modified through 10 years, and my custom built old Spyder II (paintball gun).

    I love my closet.
now if I could only start remembering where everything is in it.
