I too had been kicked about 3 or 4 times last night. it was annoying as hell. I have a 4g Connection and I decided to bail and play Black ops.

My story (and proof that it isn't the user's fault):

About a couple of weeks into Defiance, I got fed up w/ all the shtaky time outs and shtaky Shadow War connections. I contacted Live Chat Support to see what the deal was. To sum it up, the GM told me that I needed a wired connection from my router to my PS3. I did a ton of things to make this happen. After that, the connection was still crappy. I then contacted Live Chat Support for the second time (and reported to him/her my previous live chat instance). I did most of the basic steps a GM should walk you through (the first one didn't). I cleared my cache, set the time and date, we looked up my ping, and I redownloaded and reinstalled Defiance. I had to bail on the GM (because it was getting late) and I waited for Defiance to finish reinstalling. Once I was able to get back on, nothing was better. I contacted Live Chat Support for the third time (and informed him/her the steps I had taken so far). That GM then had be check on all my ports and make sure they were all open - they were. After 30 minutes waiting for him/her to tell me something new to try, he/she finally came back and told me I had done everything in the books. All I could do was call my ISP (internet service provider) and have them test my systems and see if something was up. I did so and they told me everything was perfect.

I just want to point out that this all happened over a course of weeks, and if the Live Chat Support Team had just been frank and said: "You know what, there are many reports of this, it may not be your fault. We'll look into this problem/send it to the Dev team," I wouldn't of had to go through all of these steps just to find out that nothing was wrong. But, they kept reassuring me that there are little to no similar reports of mine, and that the fault was on my end.

I still haven't been able to at least create a character. server timed out the entire time since Saturday.

I had to make an account here just to post this.
I have been trying to play basically all day, but upon doing ANYTHING, I get disconnected!
If I go to pull up my map > D/C
If I go to look at my clothes > D/C
If I play in a co-op instance > D/C
Don't even get me started on Arkfalls.
Seriously Devs get your **** together! This would be a great game if people could ******* play it!

I have had this issue since beta, figured it was me. But seeing all this, wow! its gotten worse since this last patch, so I have no clue whats up, it either server times out or freezes. an yes very irritating an frustrating, but at least I can see that others are going through this too, so its not on me. It's not the latest patch that is the problem for me, I've has these time out problems since the first round of patches.. True it's annoying when you're doing something like an ark fall or the emergencies to complete contracts than bam.. timed out. Quickly log back in, which I'm surprised it lets you in the first place.. then poof, you're right back at the start.. wth.. I was half way across the map and now I"m back here.. ffs.. grrr.. poof timed out again.. ugh

Latest patch just made it happen 2-5x more before it for most i talked to. I gave up with this company they fix stuff then break 2-3x more then they fixed. oh well outside more fun.

I just got this in the middle of a rather intense cutscene and then BAM! Now i'm in a bloody queue. I wouldn't mind but i've been playing for frakking hours so it isn't like I only just logged on. Better not of lost progress.

I've been having this problem since I bought the game right after it's release. It's either a time out issue or connection to defiance server failed. I get to play roughly 10 minutes and it crashes then it takes a few tries to get back in game only to have it crash 10 minutes later. It's becoming irritating and I'm to the point that I am telling friends not to buy the game because you can't play but a few minutes before you get kicked

I had the occassional d/c or time out when I first started playing the game but lately it has gotten much worse like so many others on here.
When the combined patch dropped for PS3 the game seemed to run better at first but then the drop outs happened and the lagging and stuttering. I have to cross my fingers when doing any ark falls, co-op, tdm or pretty much anything in game.

Odd times I will be surprised when it plays for maybe an hour or so then it'll drop out and then keep dropping out.
I must also say I have tried wired and wireless connections with no change and have run with nothing else connected through my broadband but always the same.

Im a patient person but it really is reaching breaking point now.
