Try clearing your cache


Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
Select Storage or Memory.

Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
Select Clear System Cache.

When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

Now restart Defiance.

Try deleting your profile and re-downloading. That fixed it for me and others.

Aw, now I'm getting the error. I could get in last night before the servers went down, but not now.

I couldn't get on before or after the servers went down and I still cannot.

logged in later and got the same error, tried to switch between HD and removable media, and it didn't fix it.

Ended up (while in game) actually signing out, and then signing back in (while in game), and that seemed to work.

Had to delete profile and download it again. that worked.

I signed out. And actually deleted it and then re-downloaded the profile. I booted up Defiance and BOOM worked first time
