    Any Racing Fans?

Well my birthday is coming up. *Go Me!* And I was looking through games, and I spotted this little gem called GRID 2. Now if you don't know GRID, check it out, it changed racing games for the better back when it was released.

The new installment has been in the works for 4 years, and the wait looks worth it. I'll post a video soon enough, its a 40 min livery customization and 2 races. To those though that enjoy racing games, anyone down for getting this with me on PS3? It would be nice to school all of you in a racing game. ;], its funny though, my last racing game was on my birthday 3 years ago, and that was Motorstorm Pacific Rift. I've been looking for one that looked good to me, NFS never really caught my attention save for Underground 1/2.

They never had that "feeling" of the car. The shift in weight, the understeer/oversteer. Most cars handled the same. GRID 2 is solving that however and checking it out killed any doubt in my mind, this is the racing game I have been waiting for! The online is very interesting to me as well, the whole idea of challenging other drivers to a face-off *1v1* seems sweet. The game will feature races like Drift, Circuit, Elimination, and others. Courses include street, road and circuit tracks.

Also featured that strikes my fancy is the LiveRoute system, which changes the track, in-game, on the fly. Seems like a nice way to mess with people and make it all about reaction time. The videos are what get me though, the game has this awesome way that it handles cars. It really gave the impression *not having played it* that it handles as close as you can get to a real body-weight car, without the simulation feel.

What first gave it away for me was watching a gameplay video, and noticing the driver was counter-steering. Something you done usually have to do in a corner in racing games. Either way this game looks fun, so if your a racing fan, and on PS3, add me up.

P.S. Another cool feature is to upload your best races to youtube, love that.. ;]

--EDIT: Couldn't find that video on utoob, here is another though!

Ew, no.. lol. I played Forza back when it came out, didn't like it at all actually. To much fluff with the cars.. It seems like they added it just to add it. To me the cars felt very similar, never really felt unique to me. To me it has the same problem that Gran Turismo had, all the technical parts of racing, none of the fun. The only racing game I can recall that had the fun part of it was Motorstorm series, and that was just mayhem and chaos doin' each other dirty.

BUT.. It did have the AE86 in it, and that right there, in my opinion, gives it a little shiny badge from me. Then again, i dislike X360 controllers, and not having a racing wheel did affect that.

Without a demo i cant reassure you ;[.. But watching videos it looks very technical, i've seen pro guys loose control in a powerslide/drift just from a little under or over steer. It made it out to be that each vehicle is different in handeling, so you can fidn which one works for you in terms of balance. I've just been wanting a racing game so bad.. Nothing feels more awesome then 1v1 someone in a race, to lose the first 80% of the match, to pass him right at the end cause he screwed up a turn while you flawlessly fly by him for the victory! Gets me all pumped the eff up. Or the overtakes, god i love that so much

I find half the fun on forza and gran turismo is building a car to a certain spec for a race or just to make it your own and tuning it

I'll agree that can be fun, but that is something i can do with my own set of wheels, i don't need a game for that. I find the fun in racing, something I can't do, can't get sponsored for anything like taht or find a team. So i do it in video games.

thats what i loved so much about gt, when you get cars and stuff you can mod their specs to suit your kind of driving style, i loved using my formula 1 car cuz it took turns really tight, but if you pressed the gas too quickly then you spin out and smack a wall, plus the formula 1 races were so fast and took about 2 hrs real time to complete and by that time your fingers were numb, head hurt from all the concentration cuz by about the 4th-5th race you had to rely on drafting cars in front of you and if you didnt well there goes your spot on the line lol...i was uber technical with gt...i would constantly look at my specs for toe in/out, downforce etc etc, if grid 2 provides that kind of spec-ing for the cars, duuuuuuude im so in lmao and it would be awesome to race other players online around the world in real time

they dont have local racing strips or tracks where you are dude? well that sucks...we got 1 in savanah called ogeechee speedway, if your car meets required specs and can find a local sponsor theyd hook you up, i know a guy who owns his own restaraunt out on dean forest called ronnie's...and he races his car out there, damn things fast as hell too, looks like a nascar lol
