you cant honestly believe that, that's just presumptions, there is no way that will be the case. where has this been confirmed?

I can not understand why people hate the xbox one already, the reveal was a console reveal, not a software reveal, that's E3, in a couple of weeks, the system seems to have very similar hardware to PS4, but probably not AS good but still almost identical. they showed new features like Skype which is cool and all the new things we can do with voice command via connect. great.

people keep going on about tv, so what? whats the big deal, we can now connect up our cable boxes if we want and tell the xbox to put tv on without using our remote...yeh that's cool........it does not mean xbox only care about tv and entertainment, its just added to the features like the ones we already have on our 360's.

people are speculating over so much right now, just wait till E3 and beyond when stuff is properly confirmed. xbox one will be about gaming just as much as the PS4, as many developers will develop games for it, and we will have amazing games on both consoles. all this moaning is just unbelievable.

The following is an excerpt from a Wired article discussion with Microsoft VP Phil Harrison:

Wired: What’s going on with used games? What about borrowed games? There’s a lot of speculation today. Can you clear some of that up? For example, we have multiple Xboxes in my house and trade games all the time. If we have multiple Xbox One consoles, can we still do that?

Harrison: Absolutely, just like you can today. You take the disc, install “the bits” on every machine you have in your house from the same disc, and anybody in your household can play that game. You have exactly the same restrictions that you have today, as in only one of you can play that game at a time because you only have one disc. But anybody in that house… well, the Xbox Live account… it goes for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, and any user inside that house.

The whole article can be viewed here (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/0...ison-xbox-one/)

The following is an excerpt from a Kotaku article (http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-everything-we-know-509069410)

    Used Games?

"One thing Microsoft hasn't been clear about: used games. We know that every game will come with an activation code, and that you'll have to install a game to your system's harddrive before using it. You'll also have to register it online and connect it to your Xbox Live account. Your whole family will be able to play the same game on your Xbox One, but if you want to, say, bring a game to a friend's house and play on his machine, you'll have to use your account. If you give a game to a friend, and he wants to play it on his own account, he'll have to buy it."

Microsoft tried the all-in-one, set-top box approach, years ago, and failed miserably. That little experiment was called "WebTV". Unlike some ppl, I don't necessarily mind Kinect 2.0, the design of the console, TV and App integration. What I *do* mind is the Activation code linking game to your Xbox Live GT, restrictions on used games, and giving developers the ability to offload some of the processing power (think distributed computing) to Microsoft's Azure Cloud Service. Lazy developers will no doubt do that and effectively force you to always be online; at least if you want an optimal gaming experience. Just think: a game like Skyrim (which has no online component per se) that processes characters (and some objects including the immediate environment) on your Xbox One, but the distant environment on Microsoft's Azure Cloud Service for a larger draw distance. Thanks but no thanks...

If you want an average gaming guy's take on Xbox One, I suggest you go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ekOt...lzOnUQ&index=1. FYI, this guy is generally respected by the gaming community as a whole. While I haven't completely written off Xbox One as of yet, I am currently leaning in the direction of PS4. I will wait until E3; to see exactly what Microsoft introduces there gamewise and to see what (or if) they clarify (hopefully with a complete 180) anything about required activation codes / game installs and how Xbox One will handle used games.

I'm still gonna get it who cares what anybody thinks. Its his opinion. I liked what I saw. Just waiting for a price so I can reserve it. People always rant about something they don't like. If u don't want it don't buy it or if u get it and don't like it take it back. Its that simple.

Problem is a lot of people share Joe's opinion. So Xbox One is basically a mid-range PC, where you install (register) and play games off the non-upgradeable 500GB HDD. Sony's stock got a minor boost and Microsoft's took a very minor hit after the announcement. As long as you don't mind not being able to give (for free) a game you no longer play (which you already paid for BTW) to a friend (or relative) and don't mind having to use an Activation Code that links a game to your Xbox Live GT, then buy all means by a launch system. Its' not like Xbox 360 (or Original Xbox) had any hardware issues initially...Oh wait...they did, lol.

Who knows if there will be some sort of "license transfer" if your Xbox One RRODs. While I am not completely counting Xbox One out at this point, as of now I have no plans to buy it (at launch) where it will most likely retail in the $400-$500 range. I think Microsoft did a fantastic job with the Xbox 360, game-wise and eventually stability-wise, but seem to have done a complete 180 with the Xbox One. There is an old saying: A Jack of All Trades is a Master of None. But like you said, everyone has an opinion...

I watched the 'Review' video and was impressed on Xbox 1 capabilities, but and that is a big 'But' how many families are going to put up with the 'gamers' playing games while they are trying to watch there favorite TV show? Duh...not me..so you would have to buy two Xbox one's...no...

I dunno why everybody's freaking out so hard. If this whole paying for used games thing ends up being legit, then what will most likely happen is you'll buy the game for the used price, 30-40 bucks or whatever, and then have to buy an "activation code" for a few bucks or microsoft points.

Learn about how bad piracy is in the gaming world, and it's understandable. Takes millions and millions away from the people who created the games, and these aren't people like musicians who can recover instantly by just having a single concert. So I kinda don't mind, seen the actual damage it can do. I'll still torrent movies and music, though... lol.

Jus sayin, prolly won't be that bad of a thing, prolly won't ruin the whole experience for me.

Now, if Microsoft was planning to charge full price for used games AND another like 30 bucks for a code... different story, would be pissed.

Thing is Piracy (at least on Consoles) has little or nothing to do with Microsoft's decision to use an Activation Code. Developers like the idea because it basically forces you to buy a game new and not used. A developer gets none of the money from the sale of a used game.

EXAMPLE: When a game like Mass Effect 3 came out, it was $60 USD brand new. EA's practice, at that time, was to require an online activation code aka online pass. EA has since ended that practice; going forward at least. Now we know why. Xbox One games will require activation. Once that code was redeemed, it could not be used again. SO, if you bought a used copy of ME3 from a Gamestop you were taking a risk that the code (if present at all) had already been used. You would pay about $50 for a used copy ME3, when it was still fairly new. If the EA Activation Code was not already used, you just saved about $10. If it was already used, you would have to buy one for $10, bringing your total purchase price to $60 OR the price of a brand new copy of ME3.

As far as I know, the price for Activation will vary. It could be the full price of a game IF the game is new or relatively. Right now, if you had ME3 and finished it and gave it to someone, that person would just have to purchase an Online Pass for $10 in order to play ME3 on their Xbox 360. If ME4 is released on Xbox One, and you beat it and gave it to someone for free, that person *might* have to pay up to the full price or a new copy. This is apparently because Xbox One games will be played off of the 500 GB HDD, and will NOT require the game disc to be in the Xbox One's Blu-ray drive to play it.

Hopefully, Microsoft will address some concerns / clarify some issues at E3...

People will complain and moan... And in the end they'll still buy it to play Call of Duty. (I've hated the franchise for years now.. But I'll buy Ghosts on my xbox one.. Just to give them another chance)
