Absolutely! Unless people actually think Sony are about to revolutionise pre-owened gaming forever.
What they will do is release a console which is probably better looking (Xbox One is a little odd looking I have to say) that will probably run ever so slightly faster. Big deal. What would people prefer? A console that solely plays games? Or, an entertainment system that caters for all aspects? I know what I'm going for.
The reality of it is that gamers themselves will be the demise of the gaming world, simply because the majority are dissatisfied, self-entitled, whining idiots who will - regardless of what Microsoft/Sony release - NEVER be happy. Unless each console came with a free reach around and still... there'd be something wrong with that.
Or or, and check this **** out. Your characters are on the servers for Defiance, not on your xbox. So you move your xbox live account to the new xbox live and play the game. OMFG it's still on the servers, they didn't get nuked over night. New xbox live doesn't mean they are killing your accounts or making you repay for your memberships or any of that. It would just be stupid. It will much more likely be a rebuild/switch over and all your stuff still exist minus xbox achievements and stuff like that since they are redoing it
If the mock-up I've seen is correct, the PS4 makes the XBOX One look like a beauty queen.
They did say the possibility of Defiance on Next Gen was something they'd work on.
Also saves are server side so the transfer shouldn't be TOO crazy, at least in theory.

Oh and for the whole flame war thing. You know why I play xbox over playstation? The games that are on them. Anyways, both microsoft and sony have said that the whole used game thing is not true at all. And in fact untill they do something to make me a liar(more then likely will happen) EA was the one pushing for no used games, not sony or microsoft. Give me a game reason to buy a playstation and i''ll get one, till then I have a PC, cam, tv, dvd player, blueray player and so on.
That sounds about right with EA. It'll be the game developers trying to influence no pre-owned games rather than the makers of each console. Everything just feels better with Xbox haha.
