patch : CRITICAL ERROR

i had to delete everything and redo everything... like i have nothing better to do.

I had to delete everything as well, and start over.

What I'd like to know is, did you have something better to do? I didn't...lol

Still receiving Critical Error message and unable to finish the patch on Xbox 360. Currently on 3rd attempt at patching, 2nd since reinstall. Any other ideas?

Same here 3 times I have tried all fresh installs and the game won't patch.

only had the game a few days and was enjoying it. hopefully a hotfix is in the works

I can't play this game now. This seems to be an issue for many people. Trion please help/fix!

Some players are receiving a "Critical Error" when attempting to patch. Uninstalling from your system then performing a fresh install will fix this issue. Keep in mind that no character data will be lost since all of that information is stored on our servers.

This is not working.. And my dvd drive is on it's last leg, so expecting me to re install the game more than once is a bit of an outrage, in addition to the long patch time. So it's 18 minutes to install the game and about an hour and a half to patch just to get an error forcing me to delete everything and start over. I hate to whine about this but sitting here through this process has put me in a pretty bad mood.

A bad mood? Rightly so!! I've dealt with all the bugs and issues in this game with patience and understanding. And though this isn't an issue for everyone it is still a major one.

Ok, 4th re-install today and still getting Critical Error, as per patch notes the fresh install didn't work. Live help is down, no email responses to issue, dose anyone know how to fix? I have tried everything from resetting all my network, resetting the time on xbox, port forwarding, delete cache, and delete game. This has been everything that has been said to

I also had this issue. When on the dashboard, click the Defiance disc options and delete. Then run game and it will reinstall. (Takes a little time with both install AND patches.) After the install it started up fine for me.

Warning: This is NOT Some Players.

This is THE VAST MAJORITY of Players.

I am currently sitting in party with my usual group of three other dedicated Defiance loving Good'Ol'Boys and not a single one of us has managed to patch successfully.

Out of 4 players, all starting the download within 5 minutes of each other, not a single patch has worked for any one of us. Now we are sitting around trying to decide which of your (trion) competitors games to play and just what we want to spend our money and microsoft points on, since there is absolutely no way we are wasting any more money on your rubbish.

Shoddy Patches
Shoddy Bits system (friend bought XP Bonus only to get nothing - Took 2 days to get money refund)
Shoddy arc fall loot system
Shoddy group System
Shoddy Mission Episode System
Shoddy Content (missing Challenges etc)
Shoddy Loadout system (Perks remove themselves and weapons will not change)
Shoddy Pursuits that do not complete

Oh and patch supposed to fix a lot of the above and that actually kills the game.
