It is a great time to play. Many of the issues we have faced all this time are getting fixed today. Chances are you may end up with a better game experience then we had.
Unlucky for you did pick a bad day! The game has had its moments both bad and good for me, but for the most part has been a blast, when it works hehe.
3400 here. I recommend you get engaged in a clan, or something.
I don't do the clan thing, I run a forum shop, helps me stay busy keeping stocked up. After around 2k when you've done all the easy pursuits it gets grindy, but there's still plenty to do.

Luckily I'm not easily put off games, I'm just itching to get stuck in. Luckily a four day weekend is upon me (Friday off work and a bank holiday Monday, UK) so I can sink in a lot of hours
I accidents installed windows 8 and it wiped pretty much everything. I'm in the process of getting it all back but I mainly use it for work, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver and Maya
