Buying a season pass on any game is for suckers.

I fell for this once with the Walking Dead cell shaded game they made last year. Well then the problems started and everything released late. Lesson learned. So when Borderlands 2 came around I said no. Man am I glad I said no. The first 3 DLC's were short (but for $10 what do you expect) but more importantly were worthless. You couldn't level up so you were really doing it for nothing more than 10 more minutes of story because you got no exp and weapons were no better then the ones you had already.

I just don't get why a consumer would want a season pass BEFORE playing the game and seeing what the first DLC will be like. Season passes that promise time released content just smacks of substandard game add on with a real possibility to not get released on time.

If you bought a season pass BEFORE playing a game ( this one included) can you tell me why? Are you able to persuade me to try them out in advance like you did?

Ive bought season passes a few times.
I got the cod black ops 2 pass cos I like having extra zombies maps
I got borderlands 2 cos I loved the first game and dlc. It was a bit of a let down but was still fun to play with family and friends
And I bought defiances season pass after playing the game and enjoying it and wanting more content for it

The only time a season pass is worth it is if u would buy all the dlc's from the pass cos otherwise u wont save any money on it

I understand the allure of a season pass especially if it is connected to a franchise you like such as Borderlands 2. I loved the first game and all of the DLC but after seeing what direction this latest marketing ploy was going in I couldn't do it for the sequel, man am I glad I didn't.

Defiance is a fun as hell game, yeah a lot of people are pissed at it right now, and some of these changes are complete ********, but they won't ruin the WHOLE game. I don't regret buying my season pass.

I bought mine after playing for a while. I was excited about getting a discount on the new content, since I like the game. Then I finished all the missions so it became a bit routine, but not too bad. Then, the glitches appeared to get worse, not to mention I was reading all the crazed bashing far too much. The, I heard about the lay-offs and wondered if the game was going to be around long enough to get DLC and enjoy it. So, I'm wishing I'd waited a little bit longer.

But, the game is still fun, and the glitches after the last patch (for me) seemed to be decreasing in number. I can't believe Trion would close down a game with people pre-paying for product which hasn't been delivered and not give a refund. So, I'm not as regretful as about purchasing the Season Pass it at this point.

I am not saying I hate Defiance or that it is not fun, when it's up and running I love it. However I have no intention of buying the season pas BEFORE the first DLC hits and I see what it gives me. As long as I buy the pass before I would have spent $40 on DLC I will be fine.

Same here I bought after playing a cpl weeks. Since I was having so much fun I thought I would get the season pass instead of purchasing each individual DLC.

No there was FFXI a true MMORPG and DCUO another MMO of this nature.
