No offense but shouldn't that thread be in the 'Off Topic" Section ?

I fail to see why you are telling me this.

I don't doubt it. As to off topic, the mods have been all over this forum today, apparently they don't have a problem with this topic as it is Memorial day weekend here in the states.

The first post states his humour at the way guns function in game, having had extensive weapon handling experience. Seems pretty on-topic to me.

I sometimes wish I had joined the military, I feel like I ruined a tradition in m family because I didn't.
My great-grandfather fought the Japanese and hated them until his death, my grandather was military but I can't remember where he served. My step-father was in the Welsh Guards and my real father was in a Welsh unit as well.

I have complete respect for any man or woman who fights for their country and puts their life on the line doing so. I salute you good sirs and madams!

After serving with 75th Ranger Regiment and the 82nd Airborne Division I can honestly say that the 10th is a PoS division and doesn't deserve to be in the 18th Abn Corps period. The 2nd ID wasn't as bad because it was forward deployed with a real world mission back when I was there. Not many people around that can say that they patrolled the DMZ since Warrior Base was shut down years ago. The caliber of troop increases as you go up the mission capabilities ladder. 10th Mtn is on the bottom rung with the rest of the Legs.

Clearly things have changed since I was in, we all had our fun making fun of other units, but when it was all said and done, we all had each others backs.

Well, I'm not a veteran, but I have been in Army just about 1 year 9 months about. Been interesting so from BCT,AIT to Fort Wainwright. Winter ****ing sucked. Putting tents up in -30 degrees for FTX or doing a run in -20. Just blows. We were suppose to be getting deployed sometime this year even got a pep talk from our Lt Col Battalion commander only to find out before our second FTX it was canceled last heard.

But summers are great in AK. Went to the range 2 weeks ago M4/M16, this week did CBRN again ( not as bad as BCT) and LNAV. Studying for board at moment creeds,FM,ARs etc.

I'm just a 35F Intel Analyst or all source some refer to us as. Intel is rather boring at times....Pretty interesting to read through and see different MOSs and what not.

PS If you don't bring bug spray....Death by giant face eating mosquitoes.
