The foundation of Wendy’s long-term success includes core values that we embrace every day in our restaurants and restaurant support centers around the world.

Wendy’s core values, including “Quality is our Recipe,” “Do the Right Thing” and “Give Something Back,” were created by our founder more than 40 years ago. They are timeless guideposts for our employees and franchisees. In fact, as you can see in our corporate logo, we remind people that “Quality is our Recipe…Worldwide.”

Over the past several years, we’ve built on our values by establishing a Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategy. As a large company with an expanding global footprint, Wendy’s has a responsibility to our stakeholders to focus on business success while at the same time caring for our world.

To elevate our CR strategy, we work with BSR, a leader in Corporate Responsibility that works with a global network of more than 250 member companies to develop sustainable business strategies and solutions. BSR helped us prioritize our responsibility stewardship in six key areas:

    Quality Food
    Nutrition & Health
    Community
    Supply Chain Practices
    Environmental Sustainability
    Our People

We are focused on continuously improving our performance in these six areas and the great news is that Wendy’s is already making a real difference. We’re fortunate to have outstanding people and you will read about them on this website. We also have quality, great-tasting food, which we believe is our defining competitive advantage. We work with suppliers and independent restaurant franchisees to strive toward a sustainable future – for our company and the communities in which we operate. Here are a few examples of our progress:

We are committed to offering products that balance quality ingredients, fresh preparation and customers’ nutritional needs. Wendy’s offers many low-calorie meal options, including choices with 500 calories or less. We are committed to helping our customers “Do the Right Thing” for themselves, their families and their community by providing wholesome food and experiences they can feel good about. I encourage you to learn more about our food and nutritional information on www.wendys.com.
You may also be interested our mobile application, customers can search for nutritional information about a specific menu item or combine items and calculate totals for their meal. We believe this gives our customers a way to plan which menu items fit their personal lifestyle and dietary needs. Customers may download our My Wendy's mobile application on their iPhone or android by visiting the iTunes App Store, Google Play Store or wendys.com/app.
For more than 40 years, Wendy’s has made a difference in the communities where we operate. Our employees and franchisees are involved in many outstanding causes and support a number of charities. We are particularly proud about our relationship with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption (DTFA), which is Wendy’s charity of choice. Through its signature program – Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) – the Foundation awards grants to adoption agencies to hire adoption professionals. WWK adoption experts implement proactive recruitment programs focused exclusively on moving America’s longest-waiting children from foster care into adoptive families. Wendy’s Wonderful Kids has more than 159 recruiters working for children throughout the U.S. and Canada. As of October 2012, the program helped more than 3,100 children find a permanent home. I’ve been privileged to serve as a trustee on the DTFA board since 2008 and the stories about families successfully adopting a child from foster care continually motivate us to carry on this important work. I encourage you to click here to learn more about DTFA and Wendy’s Wonderful Kids.
Together with our suppliers we continue to make a difference across our supply chain. The Wendy’s Quality Supply Chain Cooperative (QSCC) continuously works with our suppliers to create protocols and standards that support our Corporate Responsibly vision and goals. Also, under the leadership of our Quality Assurance team, Wendy’s Animal Welfare Program is considered one of the best in the restaurant industry. More information about these efforts is on www.wendys.com.
