New to defiance have a question I'll answer if I can.

I'd really like to know how/where most of you got your first orange or legendary weapon. I really want one. I'm not much past 450 EGO though I think. I'm thinking EGO rating has something to do with getting/being able to use an orange weapon?

Yea ego has nothing to do with it. People have been getting them as low as 100 lvl that i know of. I got my first 3 out of tier 3 boxes and my last one out of a tier 2. I stay away from the tier 4 tho. Not worth the cost in my opinion

Tier 3 lock box's seem best bet but all this was pre patch. So I don't know if math changed with the Lock box's.

Ok, cool thanks. Is there say a specific "lucky" lockbox I should try?? I have a bunch of keys to spend. I can afford a tier 3.

do you have 2000 scrip and 24 keys?

Yeah I have 50K scrip and 60 keys.

lol no I went all over the place sense December before release still had no luck. I would save your ark salvage don't burn it on key's because it costs to take out mods and such and also reset gun mastery. some are saying its like 200,000 plus ark salvage to make a guns exp go back to 0

I've noticed that instead of selling for scrip, people break down lesser weapons for salvage. I should probably be doing that too?

I follow this process have been the entire time I break down whites in salvage and sell green or better. The higher your ego though the less very common you get. I mostly get green now or better in drops. So I've moved from salvaging whites and greens, and selling light blue's and purple's. Could be dark blue i'm color blind.

I haven't confirmed how they compute the cost of reseting weapon xp yet. My 2300 lvl legendary Assault rifle was 112, 000 ark salvage to reset xp and my lvl 1271urple lmg was only 46,000. Not sure yet if they are going off weapon rarity or weapon ego lvl
