There is huge potential and I am a big fan, but it is even starting to wear on me as well.

I can also see where people are frustrated by the lack of communication. To this point there has been no talk about an ETA time and the posts for server status have been once per hour at best. I think someone needs to post an update with some specific information about what exactly the problem is and why it has taken so long. At least some sort of ETA would be nice.
People are frustrated with the servers not being up. Again.

People are frustrated with a rollback. Again.

Communication is a nice thing, but it's not essential for the Defiance service to be a service. Uptime and retained progression are mandatory for Defiance to be a service.

If they simply said "we're bringing the servers up at 2:00 am" we'd still be without servers for 2 hours. That means Defiance simply doesn't exist for another 2 hours.

i would just like any update from them. seriously, the lst were herd from them was an ETA would be posted shortly. Atleast give us a "hey sorry we underestimated the situation and we still dont know how long its gonna be an hourly update will be posted" that would be amazing. the even the updates saying "still no time table" every hr would be nice to see.

I did Customer Service, and even taught it, for years, and I guess that's the part of this that has been annoying to me. It's not difficult, even in the midst of a crisis to post a few lines of text here and on Twitter regularly as the situation unfolds, and the thing is, it doesn't even have to be accurate, just there at all. Of all the terrible things one can do from a customer service standpoint letting the customer feel ignored is about A-1 bad. In a lot of scenarios there's almost 0% chance of recovering the situation. Games are a bit different, but the problem still exists, and creates lot of ill-will for any future scenarios that doesn't have to be there in the first place. Seems that whoever is running that part of the show at Trion is either not very skilled, or asleep at the switch. If it was me I'd have been all over it, using it as a chance to actually improve customer loyalty rather than damage it.

My point is when you add something or anything to a server and you over write what you had on there before you can cause problems if you're off by one number or a period maybe even a comma. It's a good possibility that you don't mess up something that you just wrote but something you had already written prior to. I was just making a simple statement agreeing with you for the most part but then you just had to be an jerk.

I know what I do for a living. What do you do? Since your knowledge base on coding is so large that you were able to start a post on it.
    1) wasnt referring to you, i was referring to the geniuses that seem to know about game developing. 2) none of my posts mention anything about me knowing about game developing, but if you felt my post was aimed at you.... It wasnt.. Cool?

Communication? You guys want an estimated time, so when they dont meet that ET, you guys get to cry about it more, and if you check server status threads, they do communicate about whats going on, they are being honest by not giving an ET as to not get peoples hopes up. I feel your frustation guys but damn.. Whinny its not the way to go about it

Could be a lot better than that. More like "we are working breathlessly on [insert mostly unintelligible jargon] and will know more about the situation in (x) {where x=amount of time I think I can string you along before you get too restless}. We appreciate your passion for our game so please keep the input coming{which will mostly be ignored, and understandably so} as we get to the bottom of this unfortunate delay."

It's stressful for the PR, CS people to be in crisis mode, but it's also part of the job.

Sure people make mistakes, but everyday? At every possible corner? there is a price you must pay for selling an effed up product, and then effing up every patch. And you defend them? I like the game, dont get me wrong, but negligence and incompetence are not things I can defend. A lot of people are getting very rich. It should be as close to perfect as possible or people are going to be pissed.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not defending the dev's here. I will however defend Trion. Rift was a well made game but the team that made it was a great team. The team that made this game wasn't bad but I'm not sure they had the experience that the other team had. Nothing is perfect nor will it ever be, you'll have to accept that perfect is 70% no more than that.

You guys should really just go have a few drinks and come back it may help to hit the pub and get a little loose lol.
