I also agree with your points, but I think it may still be early in the game and they have a chance to change and adapt new NPC's and things into this world. Who knows, once the bugs are worked out...I am a little disappointed with the weapon balancing though...

I know some people will think I am crazy, but I actually think since I purchased the game that I have gotten my money's worth and more. I only bought the regular version of the game and paid around $60. I have not bought the collectors edition or any season pass yet. I have yet to buy any bits either.

So far (in my experience) the patching seems smooth and I haven't really noticed much downtime. It could have to do with the fact that I play usually from 1-6am pst. But the game seems to run pretty solid for me, mind you there are bugs/issues ( like today's) but all in all I am happy with my $60 spent and really think the game is quite enjoyable and very addictive.

I have lots of experience with other MMO type games and this is really peanuts in comparison to WOW's first few months and some other MMO's that were also completely riddled with bugs/patches for the first few months.

Nobody pays a monthly fee for defiance on any platform and that in itself is a huge bonus. Also they seem to have pretty good communication on their forums to us regarding issues.

I have nothing to gain from this post, I just wanted to write it because I know there are alot of people who love this game, and most of us seem to realize/understand that the servers are not down for fun. They are doing a good job so far in my opinion and I hope they succeed because I really like Defiance and want to see what it has to offer once the kinks are worked out.

It actually works well. Sometimes a hiccup but it's open world. What do you expect? Hell play any open world game. If it's not glitchy then chances are it's not open world.

It's a good game, there are just some really vocal dislikers of the game whom still post here yet do not play....I don't know guys I think they are all BSing otherwise why waste energy here?

I agree to a point, I love the game and found myself planted in front of it for almost my entire two days off from work. On the other hand it does seem to have been rushed a little and i feel that the Tera formed land scape has been over looked, you have this amazing landscape and story behind how it became what it is , but they didn't really give enough reason or ability to explore it. If you offer a new world then give us the WORLD! I am getting tired of driving through the open terrain running into raiders and hell bugs every 5 seconds with the same repetitive tasks. add a city or something the fact that there are like only 20 npc characters is odd, i know there was a war and what not but humans breed like rabbits and you throw some new species in there, they should have over populated nations now.
As i said i love the game but it definitely needs a little more wonderment factor in there maybe with a future expansion.

The only other game I ever heard of that was like this was Stargate worlds. That failed though so I'm hoping this game can pick up my broken dreams.

I bought the game a week after it came out and I can't really complain all that much. Yesterday was a pain because I had some free time and it was the game that I wanted to play, but I'll live. Everybody is saying that Trion is useless, but it seems like they patch regularly to keep bugginess to a minimum. I have no qualms with them at this point. Maybe I need a few more months of playtime to learn to hate them like everyone else, but for now I'm going to keep squashing skiterlings and dodging monarchs is my roller.

I agree. My husband and I have been playing about a month, and we both love it! Is the game "perfect"? No. But, having had some experience with MMOs, we weren't expecting perfection out of the gate. The fact that Trion recognizes problems and is working on fixing them already makes it better than some. We all knew days ahead of time there was a big patch going in yesterday. I for one suspected it would be down a bit longer than the originally estimated 4 hours. So we didn't play for one day, BFD. We got some yard work done, and I cleaned up around the house. Had a lovely day actually. We would have liked to play last night while winding down, but, when that wasn't available, we caught up on some tv on demand that we had missed while playing.
I think there are more with our attitude toward the game, but it seems all you see on the forums are people crying because they wanted something unachievable, a perfectly polished, no bug or glitches MMO with no down time, ever. The whiners are just more vocal, because many of us are actually spending more time in the game than on the forums.
