I didn't have to re-install the game. Just had to re-download the patch.

Yeah I wouldn't do that. I got that patch error like 3 times just clicked patch and it restarted where it left off...

It took me a couple of tries also. Don't uninstall the whole thing, just try again.

HOLY FREAKING SHAZ BOT! i went back to dash board and when i opened defiance again it autmatically started reinstalling the whole game. even though my hard drive says they took more memory. WTH!?

I think this happened to a few. That's why on the path download page, it's say you may have to re-install the game.
