That's just how I see it.
I would agree, but I know of many people lurking on the interwebz that would disagree. Thankfully, none of them are here.

By the way, since I see you like deathcore, do you like In Dying Arms, So This Is Suffering, or In The Midst Of Lions? Or maybe some Rings of Saturn (even though they are tech death)

I can't say I don't like them but I do like a song or two by In Dying Arms, So This Is Suffering and Rings of Saturn. I couldn't even tell you the name of the songs honestly, that just shows how rarely I listen to those specific songs.

Out of those though I'd have to say STIS is my favorite.

All of them are pretty great. I really like IDA because I get to talk to them on Twitter sometimes, and RoS are just disgusting musically. I can't even begin to comprehend how they do what they do. It is audibly ******ic.

I try to not be a metal elitist, but I HATE Glam, these new bands where every member (all being males) wears more make-up than any female I know, and I think djent is pretty stupid too, you can't base a genre off of an onomatopoeia, else punk would be called HNGOIRHAOJISGOAIh. Not a huge fan of core either, but I like some of As I Lay Dying's earlier stuff and I've been told The Agonist is metalcore.

Anyways, for a list of favourites, here's what I can come up with off the top of my head:
    Metallica
    Megadeth
    Anthrax
    Cannibal Corpse
    Municipal Waste
    Children of Bodom
    Disturbed
    Tyr
Battlesoul (small band from London, ONT, only have put out one album but I love em)
    Korpiklaani
    The Offspring
    Frank Sinatra
    Daft Punk
    Sodom
    Flobots
    Iron Maiden
    Judas Priest
    Primus
    Snot
    Tool
    Godsmack
    Linkin Park (first two albums)
    Black Sabbath
    Ozzy Osbourne
    Halford
    Rammstein
    Amon Amarth
    Alestorm
    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Dethklok
    Kreator
    Immortal Technique
    The Bloodhound Gang

Lol. Okay. A direct quote take from the lead guitarist of messhuga

"Djent is not a real genre, it's a picking technique, stop calling it a genre, and just because you play some dissonant chords over a few 4 and 8 time sigs does NOT make you a progressive band"

I think you meant to quote me and I don't mind taking the hit. I called it a genre as I find it easier to say it's djent.

It occurs to me I don't actually listen to that much Death Metal aside from Cannibal Corpse. I know a bit of Tech Death, some Decapitated, and a couple I've come across recently called Archspire and Beyond Creation which I guess would be considered the same. I guess it's cause a good deal of the Death Metal I've heard sounds so terribly messy and poorly produced.

I also hate some of the stupid genres that people keep coming up with, like djent. Some chick was telling me and a friend that Death are "prog thrash", and was also going on about some band she went to see that was "tech prog death thrash". I can't take half of metalheads seriously anymore.
