It'd take me half a day to earn the salvage reset the experience on a single gun. Experience I could max in 20 minutes. Experience that doesn't get me a new bonus. Experience that I could just as easily get with a trash gun in about that same 20 minutes. I'm okay with scaling ark salvage costs to mod guns since once Trion gets their shtako sorted out higher ego guns will presumably have modifiers that simply need to be slowed down to keep people from obtaining max end game gear instantly. This...this is just stupid.

I want to spend the least amount of time as possible in the matrix. Live chat restored over 215k salvage yesterday for me because of botched add mods slots.

I think pricing structure is going backward on this. Rarer weapon should have more value than commoner weapon. So Orange, high ER weapon, should have much less cost to reset than common weapon.
It should be the same with the time it takes to reset. Orange weapon should take much less time to reset than common weapon, like 5 minutes. That's how you add value to rare weapons! It's okay to cost common weapon astronomical price or time to reset. Because it's common, we shouldn't keep that weapon for long. We should throw away common weapons as fast as we can because IT DOESN'T HAVE VALUE! Trion really did messed up this time on this.

I was really excited about seeing this in.... but 65000 salvage (nearly 10% of what I actually have) just to reset the exp once
Estimate takes over 30 weapons maxed to get to L20... thats 1.8 Million Salvage to say take 1 weapon to L20. And thats just 1 weapon.

Seriously the cost isnt justified, its way out of proportion imo
Its reseting the exp bar on an existing weapon, Im not trying to make the gun out of arksalvage am I.

How do I cheerish or value the weapons I earn, when its easier and more powerful just to use and scrap lowbie weapons until I hit L20... when trying to earn a Legendary, fully mod slot it, get the right set bonus mods and then level it to 20 is IMPOSSIBLY EXPENSIVE and full of random chance.

Leveling by drop and vendor weapons is sadly the way to go... which is why leveling in this game blows, I dont get the chance to cherish and value the items I do earn

I would not be against this. Even halving the growth rate(down from 30x the ego to 15xego) Would be acceptable Its the same cost as adding the final mod slot to a gun.

Another option. Have the formula work like this.

Weapon ego rating - (current ego rating - weapon ego rating) = Modified ego rating * 15

So Instead of having a static price it would go down the longer you use the gun. Example

    Frontier Battle Rifle Ego Rating=2000
    Player's current Ego Rating=2500

    2000 * 15 = 30k

    (2000-(2500-2000)) * 15
    (2000 - 500) * 15
    1500 * 15 =22.5k

Can have a lower cap somewhere, maybe 18k or so

The point of reseting a weapons xp is so you can keep your favorite gun, and level with it.

Why does that have to cost a ****ton of salvage, when I can just pick up any ole gun of the same class and use it to level. The leveling system has gone full ******, and results in discarding guns you like, for crap, just to get by.

Tired of devs who dont play their own damn game.

Resetting might be useless for those of us with higher EGO levels but it will come in handy if you decide to make a new character.

I myself have been holding off untill the DLC comes out so i can make a Casti female. It'll be real handy then.

Well, I guess I can still gain experience with the weapon...except it costs 30,000 salvage to reset it. I think I maxed this gun under an hour. No way can I make that kind of salvage in an hour. I don't have any other maxed weapons to check, but I've heard that it scales with ER--meaning a 4000ER orange takes ~200,000 salvage to reset it. There's a huge problem with this: salvage income does not scale with ER. You make just as much salvage at 5000ER as 50ER. It's bad enough with this old shotgun. If I had a weapon near my ER (2500), it would be costing me ~125,000 salvage to reset the experience. Completely ridiculous pricing.

So you can't reset a mastery modifier and it's way too expensive to use for leveling a weapon skill. What group of people was this supposed to satisfy? It should either reset mastery modifiers or cost significantly less. Or both.
How does your modifier stay the same per day? I am so confused. Mine changes at random. I know my friend and I directly influence our modifiers by using mods and accepting they will die. This usually changes the bonus. Unless they've fixed it.
