    Bolt action rifle bug

I had a very strange experience post-patch today. I use bolt action sniper rifles on one of my characters and found that my headshots were failing to register for some reason. I first noticed this in PvP, but wrote it off as lag or a miss on my part.

However, I later found that the issue occurred in normal PvE play as well. I turned combat numbers on and noticed that both the bolt action sniper rifles I possessed were bugged. I would hit a raider dead-on in the head and while the combat numbers showed a 3000 dmg hit, the raider's Heath was unaffected and did not notice at all. The same occurred when in active combat with the raiders, only body shots registered and affected health, headshots had no effect. The bolt action rifles in my possession are greens, a VBI Sniper Rifle and VOT Bolter, both unmodded(relatively new character). Both weapons were bugged this way, when just the other day I was able to kill Ninety-Niners in one headshot I can now kill only with body shots. My semi-auto rifles were unaffected by this, though. Please fix this bug, it's crippling for a sniper character!

Edit: This is strange, it seems to have something to do with my perk set-up. When I change some perks around I can headshot again. I have been using Cloak with Infiltrator, Gunslinger, Just Reward, and Shadow's Core. This combo seems to cause the bug somehow, though I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact perk yet that is causing this. At first I thought it was gunslinger, but when I traded Infiltrator for Nerves of Steel and kept gunslinger, things were fine. My cloak is fully upgraded and the perks I listed are all level 3. Will add more info if I find some.

I noticed the exact same thing. I have a completely different loadout, and I just needed to change 1 of the things and change it back for headshots to work again.

    Bolt action sniper rifle bug

It has to do with the gunslinger perk i just tried it alone with decoy and cloak and my rifle did not register a hit , when i remove it from my load outs the rifle does full damage.

Just tested it and it's indeed the gunslinger perk. Only noticed it with bolt-action rifles, semi-autos are not affected.

Testing will report back, thank god someone found a workaround lawl. Sucks I have to give up gunslinger, this is really beginning to be a game about fixing bugs rather than killing them.

If you take gunslinger off then it will work more often but there are still times when you won't do any damage.

    Exact same problem.

Critical hits display damage, but target's health is unaffected. This is only in aim mode though, you can still score critical hits with hip fire - but with a bolt action sniper this is super difficult.

At first I thought this was related to the reset weapon master function in the salvage matrix, because I had just used it. But when I removed my gunslinger perk, it resolved the problem. So thanks a million for posting that!

Can also confirm that removing the Gunslinger spec helped in fixing the issue. Shame, because I'd like to keep it.
