    'Til We Die

It is always easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them. The greater the feeling of inferiority that has been experienced, the more powerful is the urge to conquest and the more violent the emotional agitation. We must interpret a bad temper as a sign of inferiority. To be a human being means to possess a feeling of inferiority which constantly presses towards its own conquest. The test of one's behavior pattern is their relationship to society, relationship to work and relationship to sex.

People who believe they have the power to exercise some measure of control over their lives are healthier, more effective and more successful than those who lack faith in their ability to effect changes in their lives. Things you create with your mind are always part of your postmortal life, whether they seem real or not. The core of the personality consists of many selves. People who cannot invent and reinvent themselves must be content with borrowed postures, secondhand ideas, fitting in instead of standing out. The ordinary accepts the status quo; the leader challenges it.

Trust is the lubrication that makes it possible for organizations to work. The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. This myth asserts that people simply either have certain charismatic qualities or not. That's nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made. It is what we know already that often prevents us from learning. A loser doesn't know what he'll do if he loses, but talks about what he'll do if he wins, and a winner doesn't talk about what he'll do if he wins, but knows what he'll do if he loses.

The moment a little boy is concerned with which is a jay and which is a sparrow, he can no longer see the birds or hear them sing. The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem. Is it hard for the reader to believe that suicides are sometimes committed to forestall the committing of murder? There is no doubt of it. Nor is there any doubt that murder is sometimes committed to avert suicide. We need criminals to identify ourselves with, to secretly envy and to stoutly punish. They do for us the forbidden, illegal things we wish to do.

The voice of the intelligence is drowned out by the roar of fear. It is ignored by the voice of desire. It is contradicted by the voice of shame. It is biased by hate and extinguished by anger. Most of all it is silenced by ignorance. Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it. One does not fall in love; one grows into love, and love grows in him. The word 'happiness' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you.

The man who promises everything is sure to fulfil nothing, and everyone who promises too much is in danger of using evil means in order to carry out his promises, and is already on the road to perdition.

How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours. Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Begin to see yourself as a soul with a body rather than a body with a soul.

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
