Is Voice Chat not working? or are people just not using it?

Nobody is talking, voice or text chat.

I understand that not everyone has a chatpad like I do or a keyboard or whatever, but I thought the Voice chat was working for groups.

are people just not using the voice chat, or am I missing something here on my end, or what?

ChatPad works beautifully, but doesn't seem like anyone responds when I type in area or group chat.

For me, the voice chat works, but only if I am in a group and even then it's impossible to hear the person talking. Text chat is not as popular on Xbox, I've noticed. However I did see a few people wanting to trade "x" item for "y" item via Text chat.

ive typed a few messages in the chat window, but I seem to be the only one.

And here I thought I was the only one. I'm on Xbox and I've got a usb keyboard and a headset. But if all of the chat is fubar'd what alternative do we have, an Xbox Live chat party? In any case my gamertag is SystolicShadow for anyone interested.
