As for the op's question, i'm thinking neither. The rundown on xbox one sounds too much like "we borroed a wii u, and started copying things, then looked for ways to make it suck".

Like "its not always online but it won't function without internet". Fantastic, so i can't use it during storms because internet always drops before power.

"we put an obnoxious overlay on top of your shows so you could have the screen blocked by chat bubbles!" Go **** yourself, microsoft.

"if you borrow a game from a friend you still pay full price to use it!", defeating the point of trying a game before buying it. Also this means no asking gamestop to check a game on demo system to see if it's worth buying.

The ps4, i just don't care about. It's a sony product, and every thing sony touches ultimately turns to suck. Like removing the emulator chip for backwards compatibility from ps3, claiming it would lower the cost. It saved them $5 per unit, but they kept the price at $650 for another 6 months. Also... It may be a different branch of sony, bit do i really need to say anything more about their respect for their customers than "cu/nge"?

I don't know about you, but if it was storming hard, and internet cuts off. The last thing I would be worried about is playing games.

Hurricane isaac last year, storm itself was over in a day, had nothing to do for a solid week because work crews were paid to fix the french quarter, where the media was stationed, then sent home. Hospitals did not have power for over a week, but you can bet anderson cooper never lost ac in his hotel room.

In denver for 12 years, every year, lose internet, not power, in s blizzard, go a week offline but no more storming.

There is this magical thing they do for retail showcase by letting the system be in demo mode. Also known as RETAIL DEMO CONSOLES. Wave of the future stuff right there.

So is anyone REALLY going to buy an xbone-me-in the *** with the whole can't play used games anymore without paying 57bucks to activate it, gotta get online once every 24hours, and you have to download 15-50gigabyte games onto a 500gig harddrive? No offense to anyone but i've been with the box since dayone and you'd have to be a totally slowtard to buy this system under these conditions. Basically going from owing games to LEASING them, screw that noise.........

It's been said that the new Kinect is able to discern the position of the sound source, keeping outside individuals from overriding the primary user. I'd imagine that might apply all the way around.
