I am not sure what the deal is, but since last Thursday every time I try to patch it prompts me to reinstall and then patch for hours.
I realize this means a clean uninstall and probably deleting patches to date. For some reason my ps3 patches in minutes and takes an hour on my various Xbox consoles. Can you pull the Xbox patches offline and transfer them to a USB? I have not been able to play since last Wednesday.

I try to avoid crit rating on my gun because I think it effects server stability.... Still I crit out all the time.
i know if you have the usb transfer kit an a program called horizon you can transfer games, xbox live distributed patches and save files. but i you have to be careful what you transfer since (worst case scenario) you could get your console blocked from live.
also not sure how well this would work with defiance patches, so i wouldn't risk it. pester trion live chat support until they fix it instead
