The only thing I can think of is 'if' you've had your system on for too long.
It does it to me in Arkfalls sometimes when there are too many people to load. Only time it occurs for me as far as I have seen.
On the plus side, it doesn't happen to Acid anymore, he used to get many hard freezes. Then his stopped and now mine started every now and then. We have different model PS3's. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I have not had a hard freeze since 1.020, If I get one I will bump the thread.

I think the game is trying to send my ps3 to the retirement home, crashes coming out of pvp, co-op, and some cut scenes. I have even had it crash during a loading screen. My poor ps3!
Been lucky so far, no hard freezes. Still get the occasional disconnect but instead of once or twice an hour prior to 1.020, it's gone to more like once every couple hours.
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
