What is your favorite assault rifle scope and why?

looking into buying a scope for my gun and I don't know if there are some that are better than others so let me know what all you ark hunters are using and why

I tried using a scope on my AR and hated it. The zoom was too much for even medium ranges and I just couldn't get used to shooting from the hip all the time.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...

I agree. Scopeless is the way to go. 'the only exception is the Heavy Assault Carbine, which has a scope by default.

    For mature, casual gamers, BYOB.

I guess we non-professional killers don't understand why we shouldn't use a scope.

Perhaps we aren't supposed to kill skitterlings way the hell over there with an assault rifle? Or is one expected to turn off aim assist, which when on kinda brings the enemy into the center of the sight as you pull the left trigger, fixing the zoom issue slightly?

Stabilization Sight III is all I remember having available, and it's fine. I imagine there are reasons why you'd want to use the other available sight mods, but I have no practical experience...

Using a scope kinda defeats the purpose of the game being third person. They're also ugly as hell and zoom in way too far. I stick with scopeless.

When if a firefight with an AR I aim "aiming" 90+% of the time. It pulls in the crosshairs and tightens up to bloom over shooting "from the hip". The only time I shoot from the hip is against large numbers of skitterlings or mongrels. Using a scope is like trying to fight looking through a wrapping paper tube. Raider Blitzers and 99er Mattocks will both dodge roll, Hellbug Archers will circle and with a scope zoomed you can't tell which direction. They just disappear like magic. Fast moving enemies are impossible to track unless you tune your stick sensitivity so high you can't aim accurately anyway. I already have aim assist set to "off" because too much of the time it would pull my aim away from what I wanted to aim at and on to what the AI thought I wanted to aim at. All in all, the way I fight with an AR makes a scope useless to me. That's my opinion, which is what the OP asked for, so there was no need to be douchy because you disagreed. If there were a duel system we could settle it with AR's at 10 paces, but there isn't so I shall just have to ask you, with all due respect, to get bent.

Actually, the 'douchy' part is because he didn't ask for why he shouldn't use a scope, he wanted to know which was a favorite, and why. I took these no-scope comments as coming from elitists who don't need no little dot to be big-time killers. Some people do.

Now, if the OP comes away with a feeling that a scope is still a good idea, then what you guys did here wasn't so bad. I get by quite well changing the perspective from third- to first-person and don't get all huffy about it. I just hope he doesn't go scopeless only to miss stuff because he NEEDED a scope, just to grow up to be a real gamer like you.

I suck at PvP so you'd win there. A man's got to know his limitations, including the personal value of a scope...

I've used the tactical scope- its the nly one that has somewhat decent visibility while zoomed in, rest I didn't like at all.

the reason I would like to know what scope would be the best is I set my assault rifle up like a sniper so I could pick people off from a distance or if I need to am still able to engage enemies close up

I bought four diff types of scopes - and threw them onto throwaway assault rifles. The tactical scope was the only one I liked enou to use. But as was pointed out earlier- most assault rifles aren't good at distance. Falloff dmg is too low... You could throw a +5 falloff dmg barrel- and a scope...

But why not just carry a nice sniper and a ar in the 2nd slot. You can snipe at a distance with the VOT bolter... It'll kill most dark matter in 2 shots... An AR takes a whole clip...
