    Bypassing Nim

Does anyone know if you can bypass the Nim mission, I have been trying for 2 weeks and still no luck. I have looked at the videos and forums for help, but still cannot beat him. I have purchased the DLC and I am thinking I will not be able to play it if I do not get past this part. I am ready to give up on this game and sell it back. I really like the game but this 1 mission is frustrating me to no end. If anyone can advise me if this is possible I would really appreciate it, otherwise goodbye DEFIANCE.

    Thanks

I don't understand you Eshane. Nim is not that difficult to beat (Hundred of Thousand of peoples did it before). So I guess there is something you are doing wrong..
What is your ego? What is your loadout? I can maybe do some recommendation for you.
The first time I beat Nim, was with the invisible perk at ego 600 with a saw and a courier. It was quit fast (About 5mins top per phase).
Did you look at video of people fighting him? Youtube is full of em.

    use a combat shotgun
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

join the crowd their are a simple minority/majority of players who do the exact same thing i am doing the exact same thing myself wait until i have every perk and leave no stone unturned when i max all perks out/unlock em all then i might try him again or until they allow for it to be co op instead of forced solo . until then im going to enjoy the game with the many other delights the game has to offer . just don't get limited by the missions their is lots to do in the game .
    And shepherds we shall be,
For thee my lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand,
So that our fee may swiftly carry out thy command,
And we will flow a river forth to thee,
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

I'm in the same position as you. But be prepared to get a lot of replies that you suck, and this is the easiest boss evah, if you can't beat Nim you need to quit cause you suck anyway, and this is how you need to do it, blah blah blah.....but I'm sure no one will actually answer your question.

(Pleas note, I am NOT saying those things to you, I also have had no luck with Nim at all, but in all the posts I've read of people having trouble with him, these are the replies that are given. This is the least helpful community I've ever encountered in a game.....its also my first shooter, so go figure)

Edit. ****Just in the time it took me to type my reply, my thoughts were proven true lol. ****

Boring and easy way is BMG throughout the whole fight. Get a high cap shield and thats basicly it

Fun way is Infector gotta love those bugs.

I used a cluster shot, and just ran backwards shooting anything that moves, and used obstacles to reload. Currently, he is the final mission boss, so even if there was a way to bypass him, there is not anything afterwards.

Don't let the humblebraggers get you down. Nim IS very hard. In fact, he IS too hard; too overtuned. Quite a few of us have given feedback on that.

If you want to keep banging your head against the wall, you can beat him the easiest with two separate loadouts:

Loadout 1: BMG Spanner and Frontier SAW (the 440 per shot one)

Loadout 2: BMG and Nano-Fragger Shotgun

Use loadout 1 for the first two stages. In Stage 1, you'll mostly attack him with the BMG while constantly circle strafing, keeping distance as best as possible, and dodge rolling his charges against you when necessary.

In Stage 2, use loadout 1, but primarily use the SAW. Learn to anticipate where each new wave will spawn, and get distance from it ahead of time. Best tactic is keep your distance and pick them off from range with short bursts of the SAW. If you can learn to spot the one that gets on top of crates, that's the original. Kill that one and the others poof and the next wave starts. Same for the in-between segment where they're all up in alcoves. Go to one end and start mowing down the ones near that end, you might get lucky and kill the real one before he does his charge up attack. Dodge roll if you have to deal with the charge up attack.

In stage 3, the entire trick is to keep jinking around a pillar at one of the far ends, to keep the pillar in between you and him. When your shotgun reloads, jink out and point-blank him with both shots, then stay behind the pillar again. With about 8-10 successfull point blanks with the nano fragger, you'll kill him quick enough to avoid getting unlucky and one-shotted by him.

Those tactics and a patient, zen attitue, and about 2 hours per attempt and you can get him.

But ya, it's a terrible fight for the average casual shooter player to do solo. I hated EVERY MINUTE of my multiple attempts.

I tried about 30-40 times with my assault rifle/pistol combo before finally giving up and trying the BMG tactic suggested in the forums here. After levelling my BMG a bit (got to about level 5, i think) I went back to Nim with a BMG and a Respark Regenerator shield. Beat him on my first try...

It can take forever to beat him that way, but it is the easiest way...

He's the current end-game boss, it's supposed to be hard, and he's anything but over-tuned. I'm a mediocre shooter player at best and I only died on him once in the first phase. Used one weapon, a combat shotgun, and used no ego powers. Just equip a combat shotgun, run from one end to the other, and hug the barricades. Final phase, dance around the posts until after his attack, then he's vulnerable. It's a joke, I had a rougher time with the rogue e-rep a few weeks ago
