Bypassing Nim

Nim was rage inducing. I feel your pain. I recommend leveling up the BMG (healing at Arkfalls will give you credit, damage will not) and a shotgun. I used the BMG for the first two rounds then switched off with the combat shotgun (elemental damage) when I could on the last.

Tip: When you are on the second part and he splits up above you to talk... use the BMG on them! I was able to take out at least three clones before they came down, which made that part a LOT easier. Not easy, just easier.

BMG: I used the VOT Spanner. Damage 462/healing 348. The link range was 6 I think. I spent most of the time healing, but I got through it.

Use a spanner trapper cloak and a short barrel shotty make sure you have preparedness so you don't have to reload.

Thanks everyone for your kind replies, I am actually trying to get pass this mission for my wife, she loves this game and I do not want her to quit it. It seesm like a great game, I am hoping so she stays with the game. I do not play this game too much and it just seems very hard. I know I will get some nasty replies but from what I have seen on the forums, seems like most of the people actually try to help people.

Yes , Yokai is correct. There are multiple ways to take him out (with various load-out combinations); but the only real thing you need is attention to his basic attacks and special abilities, know Nim so well that you can anticipate 'what' he's going do and 'when' he's going to do it. Combine these 2 strategies and Nim is guaranteed to be dead in about 15 minutes or less, usually.

Boring and easy way is BMG throughout the whole fight. Get a high cap shield and thats basicly it

Fun way is Infector gotta love those bugs.

I agree that BMG and/or Infectors can make this fight easier, since they both do a lot of the aiming for you. I disagree about the high cap shield though; fast shield regen trumps high capacity in this fight. You want one that's going to regen quickly when you duck behind a pillar to heal.

I'm sorry, but the general consensus is that Nim is not even close to being "very" hard.

Grab a shield with a low recharge delay, 2 to 6, and at least 1500 cap.
an SMG with low bloom/recoil so you don't have to ADS to hit Nim, and an Armada or Swarm Cannon RPG. Or, instead of an SMG, equip a Bio Frontier Saw if you have one.
Equip a bio grenade as well, because the the effect of Bio cuts enemy damage in half, combined with the quick recharge shield means you should never be near death. Cloak and Decoy will also get you out of some tight spots. Learn his attack patterns, as they mostly distance based. If you're too close, he'll do a melee attack, if you're too far, he'll shoot projectiles. Exploit his patterns and you can get through each phase pretty quickly.

I used a high damage sniper rifle for the entire fight, with respark shield (3 sec regen delay) I had to use my self revive, but I did kill him the first go around. When he runs up to you early on just fire from the hip with the sniper rifle. You have a good chance to hit that close and you'll do a lot of damage. When he is further away aim in 3rd person for speed, then zoom in and fire as soon as the camera stops moving (takes about 1 second). When you get the part where he separates and has clones running at you the sniper rifle also kills them in one shot. Same for the ones on the ledge around the room.

You have infinite ammo readily available so do whatever it takes. Hell, spam rocket launchers for 3 hours if that's what you've got to do.
