I find it in depth and looking at what perks that I have available to me.

I haven't played much PvP until lately. I really like the shadow war (when you can get in without waiting 15 minutes). I'm finding it's a bit of trial and error which is forcing me to think about the game in a different way (that's a good thing to me).

I have 2 Loadouts setup for PvE and 2 for PvP. 1 PvP is my play with perks and through trial and error find a good counter cloak/shotty build and the 2nd is a "If you can't beat em join em" Cloak/Shotty fallback.

It's also how you play. If you're a stay at the point and guard type of person like me I like my ground pounder trap with a SMG/MAZU Rifle with High Rate of Fire vs say what you'd build for a run n gun.

Bottom line is I am agreeing with the OP. Those that are screaming need to actually try different things. We all know that the definition of insanity is trying the same thing and expecting a different result.
I really need to stalk you around for tips.

I am a weak PvP player at best, but have been having a ball in Waterfront. Maybe it's because I get killed by people with goofy names. When I die I see what I did wrong and what they did right. It's a learning experience for me. I tried Halo and ran. Even Gears is one I prefer a group of friends. This game has me enjoying the one part I'd never admit to, so it's all good. Cloaks, Infectors, etc... It's still skill based. I've watched people with infectors die left and right. Blur taking out a cloaked. Instead of seeing the unfair advantage that they have I see what I could have done to prevent respawn. Minus the one shots that is.

I'm not at the top of the rankings but I am enjoying myself. Especially Shadow wars.
Because Shadow wars is so wide open there is much more opportunity to be a sniper. The amount of people that walk by you while you're crouched in a bush is HILARIOUS. The muddy dull coloured textures allow you to blend in nicely. If somebody is distracted and far enough away you can kill them in a couple well placed head shots (or less) before you give your position away.

Like a real sniper you have to move. this is where cloak comes in for me. I use it to find my next bush guarding the point.
People do find you it's not fool proof, especially every shot you take you appear on the map. You may be picking off that distracted dude only to find you're distracted and dead from another person flanking your position. Also a good eye can sometimes pick off the top of your head.

I've played a few rounds of Freight Yard now and I am still figuring that one out and figuring out my perks and load out for that one.

I couldn't agree more, the large environment and the pop up emergencies are excellent, I love the fact that I'm not bound to a certain path and that I don't have to do the missions (mostly) to have access to all the areas. I still haven't done the last mission yet, but I'm in no hurry, I'm saving it for a rainy day. A good "no pressure to do the things that you don't want to" game, frustrating at times, but so much fun.

Have to agree on liking the game but can see other points. If I had the time I would love to become a better shooter (on any game), but have to accept reality constraints and find enjoyment for now. Rainbow, Oblivion, Ghost, Skyrim, Defiance ... all give us something new. Just new to PvP myself and having my arse handed to me but I am learning in this game, but still liking it. I say agree to dis-agree for now. Note: Other fps/rpg worth mentioning but time consuming, just wanted to say a few for reference. This what I like, learning new stuff in a game.

Personally... I am waiting for the game to get over the newborn hump and past the hype. That is when I may give PvP a try. Only after all the whiners go back to cod. I bought this game to play in the huge open world. Make new friends. Enjoy finding things to do as a group. Yah I get critical errors. Yah I get booted. Yah my mic drops. But like the OP stated... better by the Joker... Why So Serious.

I posted once before, take anyone's time spent on this game. Just one person. Do the math on a per hour bases divided by $60 and I beg you to give one Real World example of a less expensive way to have fun. Just my two cents agreeing with the OP.

I agree. I find these people to be the worse offenders, playing the game for countless hours but then crying about the dumbest things in the game. If you feel ripped off for paying 60$ on a game that's buggy then its most likely your first mmorpg because ALL mmorpgs have tons of glitches and bugs when first released. Yes even WOW, blizzard didn't get where they are now without trial and error. Its taken years for blizzard to progress as far as they have come and there still applying patches and hotfixes. And lets not forget that defiance is venturing into a new world with the first shooter mmorpg that interacts with a tv show and I think the concept is pretty cool and there doing fine with trying to fix what they can and keep there gamers happy. So do us all a favor and if you feel ripped off, just stop buying games based on noob YouTube vidoes and what listening to unoffical ratings of those stupid game review company's because guess what, they get paid to write those reviews so most are barely even true talk. If you feel ripped off then wait till after a game releases to hear the hype or disgust of the game. Me personally, I find it so funny that people buy things for there OWN entertainment based on what other people say because in the end opinions are like aholes guys and almost all stink!

Deadpool Says: Stop F*&#!^ crying about whats wrong with the game and enjoy
the things that are not wrong before i kick you in your crybaby face B&^%*!

    mhm.

I couldnt agree more with the OP. Ive had Defiance for a little over 3 weeks. I work from 06:00 to 17:00 EST. After work I hop on and spend an hour playing CoD with guys I work with, then I play Defiance. This game litterally is everything, and more, that I expected from a TPS MMORPG. Let alone the, at least for me, First of its kind on a console. It is a living game, meaning constant updates, patches, fixes... Anyone who has played an MMO on a computer knows that server downtime, glitches, and even bugs are all part of an MMO.

And tbh, I really really really dont think the community as a whole, nor the devs care if your whining about a ****ty PvP system in a game that has a huge open world. If you baught the game for PvP only and not the PvE, then in my opinion, you did waste your money, and go back to playing the FPS because thats all they really are. Is PvP.

A game like this, one that has so many different ways to approach the same situation. That has so many different tactics for every battle. That has so many possibilities.... If you dislike it, then return it. If you cant return it then delete it. Dont whine because its not what you wanted. Your a consumer, you buy what others make to how they want.

If you have that much of an issue, then make your own game.

This is the best thing I've read on this forum. Couldn't agree more.
