I really think none of the problems are going to be addressed at this point. And when the "GOOD" new stuff comes, I truly believe it will bring a boatload of new problems as well.
Defiance has potential to be a great game, and yes at the start I whole heartedly defended it because I thought it would bring in a new erra of games for the new console. But as of yet I have seen a company that doesn't reply to issues on forums, they don't reply to things that people submit through the in game feature (Except for automated responses), and they haven't been able to fix many of the problems.
Honestly guys, tell me one person you know that submitted a ticket in game that actually got a response from an actual living person??? And a response that helped you? I think none of you. Its always a generated response and its always the same for every question and problem.
Like I said, I love the game and it has potential. But I don't think trion has the means or knowledge to pull this off. Too much time has passed and there are some exploits that haven't even been looked at yet.
I have submitted tickets and have gotten responses from all of them. Not only that, but all of the responses helped. I do like how you claim that you have defended them since day one in the same post that you throw them under the bus.

I actually have defended them and still do. I understand if DLC is delayed due to necessary patches, etc. I will understand if the only "official" response to this thread is that they currently have no ETA. I will even understand if the DLC brings with it a whole new list of issues that will need to be addressed.

I wish people would learn to read. It says, "at the start I whole heartedly defended it" . Also, do you not see where I said "It has potential to be a great game" If people would just learn to read a lot of these threads would go a lot better without insult to injury.

Also, for you to say, "I will even understand if the DLC brings with it a whole new list of issues that will need to be addressed." Its because of statements like this that Trion seems to think its okay to put out broken material. they are seeing posts by gamers that just don't care if its broke. As long as you get your dlc right? Even if it doesn't work its okay right?
And yep, I have submitted tickets as well and have gotten responses as well. They were all automated responses and I would bet yours were as well.
You have defended them to the end and that's okay. You have the right to do so. But the fact of the matter is, you are part of a group that is getting smaller by the day. And eventually you will be sitting there by yourself. Well there will be a few other sheep with you but I am not allowed to name names.
At the beginning lot of the bugs, glitches, exploits were okay because of the fact it was a new game. But now, after all this time has passed, I don't think its okay at all.
Most of us paid good hard earned money for the game and we expect Trion to appreciate that and keep us informed and get things fixed. Yes they try but with every patch comes more problems.
Plus there are a few glitches that still haven't been addressed yet and Trion has known about them from the start. These glitches are very bothersome to myself and others but everytime its brought up I seem to find the gamers that don't care, or the ones that exploit these glitches themselves.
They need to be fixed. Also, when they are brought up sledge doesn't reply to let us know if they are being corrected either.
At this point in time I really don't think Trion has the knowledge to fix the issues. They fired all the smart ones cause they cost money to keep.

First you say that people need to read posts before commenting and then you do the exact opposite. None of my responses were automated. All responses were from a live person and the issue I had was resolved EVERY time.

As long as Trion keeps Defiance going, you're right, I will be here. If I am the only one then I guess it just means I don't have to deal with people like you...

At the earliest I would guess June 11th. They probably won't announce an exact date though. Remember patch 1.010? People went freakin' crazy when that didn't come out on the 15th of April. Trion even said it would be sometime around the 15th and not specifically the 15th. If they announce a date and it gets pushed back for some unknown reason the people on this forum will go nuts.

The problem is they aren't up front or honest about the delays. They don't say anything in regards to them, they rarely discuss anything on the forums. That's why people go nuts. If the 15th rolled around and they were actually up front about why they couldn't deliver, it would've changed the mood of the forums significantly. This forum goes days without a single post from anyone from Trion and most of the time it's "patch notes" and not actually addressing the community like a community manager should be doing.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

They had mentioned in the past that the DLC would be out by the end of the month but then pushed back the client update so I assume that also pushed back the DLC.

I am not trying to attack Trion or even complain. If they need more time then they need more time but they should keep the community up to speed on what's going on. If the recent Community Blog are an indication of how well we are informed, then the DLC will be out for 2 days before they tell us the release date.
See people, you CAN discuss problems without trolling.

Very intelligent post sir. And I agree. Its fine if they wish/need to push back content/DLC, I understand and have no problem with that(to a degree) but it would be nice, and considerate for them to give us a some info...

Love the game, but Trion DOES a horrible job with community updates within the game....

Pretty much feel the same way. My only real gripe is the chat system and their "communication" on the forum.
I can live with the other issues but I will continue to comment on them, those two I listed are the biggest problems in my eyes.

They can't always be upfront with delays though. Patching and putting DLC on consoles is a pretty crappy system. They essentially send their work off to Sony or MS and just have to wait for it to be approved. If Sony or MS decide they don't want to work one day or content gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list there isn't much Trion can do about it. I would also not be surprised if they don't even let Trion know whats going on.

Hopefully after they have finished and play tested it to make sure its not going to require a 10 hour 'emergency' downtime after it patches in rather then rushing it out the door to appease people complaining on the forums.

So if that is the case, why cant Trion say that its in Sony's or Microsoft's hands for certification? I know they don't wait 30 days just to say that the DLC isn't approved.
