Well it's just a video game, which requires no skill. Just dumb luck and the willingness to look like a complete a**. And I never said I performed poorly, I simply stated it would be nice to have a bit more depth.
Grow up?
My primary character is grinding through EGO levels, has all four EGO powers unlocked, beat Nim quite easily enough.
I recognise that my considerably increased survival and slaughter capability is primarily to do with the increased skill with which I play the game, but there are perks which help.
You need to recognise that this game is not all about player skill. If it was, our weapons would not have Aim scores and my sniper rifle would not have gone from "can't hit a bus" to "blows a raider's head off at half a mile" overnight (they patched).
You also need to recognise that your character is adaptable to different roles within the game based on the perks he/she has. This is particularly the case with the combat medic role since there are several perks allowing multiple characters to be revived at once, and similar. If you do not recognise this, you are not adapting or learning.
Now take your trite one-liners where they can do some good. Politics, maybe.
I like this game. You seem to want a different game. While it is one thing to complain about broken mechanics, this is a suggestion to change the game from what it is. The game is what it is.
If you want classes and more RPG elements you got the wrong game dude. If you want to like this game, it's easy. You just play a few hours a day/week, swear at a few broken bugs, kill some players, buy a lock box then log, super happy fun time.
You will have more fun thinking of this game more like CoD than WoW. If you play this game expecting classes and WoW, your in for a nasty surprise.
From the beginning you seem to be misinterpreting what I'm saying, I don't know it's it's due to a lack of detail or just a failure on your part. I just thought it would spur some interesting conversation not turn into a "you're trying to change everything I love about this game!" argument...
You need to recognize that your "combat medic" class is not viable in PvP, and not important in PvE, because PvE is a joke.
You need to recognize that your character can adapt to any "role" regardless of what perks are equipped, if your skilled.
You need to recognize that scopes were broken and I have never had a problem hitting raider heads from max render distance (70m~) because I did not add a scope.
I recognize my my survivability and slaughter are due to skill, and recognizing which weapons match my play-style. I don't know what game your playing that doesn't require any skill? Do people just sit still while they shoot each other on UK? Lots of Cloak Shotties or something? Cloak shotties are my favorite breakfast food.
I'm afraid I have to agree with the OP. His original post was far from clear, but did not seem to suggest changing the game in any way.
You appear to believe the game is entirely without specialisations and think that this is a glorious thing.
I'm glad you think so. I am also a fan of a system which allows greater flexibility in character creation than the typical D&D-based computer RPG. (Real RPGs have used classless systems for decades, it's just the computer ones which got stuck in the AD&D class and level mechanic due to lack of imagination.)
However, the game has the ability to specialise based on chosen play style and elected perks. They joy of it is that (at higher levels with lots of perks available) you can switch from one role to another with a flick of a loudout. Want to tank for a co-op, no need to switch characters, just loudouts.
If you want to think of this game as CoD and ignore the optimisations available, then that's your choice. But this isn't CoD and you should really let people have their fun playing how they want rather than how you seem to feel they should.
The "Trinity" sucks balls. Seriously. It is why this, and The Secret World are the two freshest mmos I have played. Classes and the Trinity blow. It ruined Star Wars. Why can't you be a force using Mandalorian on that game that also has heavy Mandalorian Rippers and a lightsaber? Stupid game, stupid concept, ruined by TRINITY and classes. Use what you want. Restrictions blow. Don't like it go to some game that shoves a leash up yo ***.
I think pvp is fun until people start taking it too seriously, it's fun (shadow wars particularly) but then people become so ridiculously competitive for no reason it takes away the fun. I personally think pvp would be better with some fatigue gauge that when empty would limit dynamic movement and recharge be determined by various weights and such. But it's a bit late for that.
