Had the Extended Warranty on the first one it was sent off and repaired. Then tanked again 7 days after the extended warranty expired. But yes certain games are much more taxing on systems, even cause them to lock up. You could be unfortunate and have a hard drive fail from one freeze and power reset. Or you could be lucky and have it not damage your hard drive at all. If software causes improper shutdowns then it's the software that damages the system.
Activate interlock! Dynotherms connected! Infracells up! Mega thrusters are go! LET'S GO VOLTRON FORCE!

My buddy is still using his original Xbox as well and hasn't had any problems running the game. Sometimes it all boils down to blind luck. Did you get the one Xbox with the faulty component, the weak solder, the bad fan, etc? It also helps to make sure you have good air flow around your system. Don't stuff it into a cabinet with your DVR, Blueray player, etc. Keep it out so air can flow through it and dissipate some of the heat it generates. My original Xbox produced way more heat than my slim does due to those design improvements and component upgrades Microsoft put into it. (not to mention how much quieter it is)

That is true its also good if your Xbox is out of warranty to keep a T8 screw driver around and periodically clean the inside of 360 and also clean your remote controllers. This is easily down with compressed air. It's also really simple disassemble and put back together.

    +1

If this was the case I should have cried to Mojang to tell them my Xbox couldn't handle Minecraft, because that's when mine first went out.

I was a day one player of a little game called Section 8: Prejudice, and that game had constant hard locks since day one, eventually they fixed most of the issues causing it but it still happens. 2 years later and not a single hardlock from that game has caused a Red Ring. Blame your lack of air flow and proper cooling, not the game.

first of its pelicans fault not microsofts!!

After pelicans failed hardware design with the original white xbox 360 pros microsoft released the xbox 360 elite the good version. Only some of the original xbox 360 were affected not all so stop blaming microsoft lol. Had my xbox 360 elite since 2008 and it still running fine no freezes or nothing.

Just because you have a slim does not mean you're invulnerable to a Red Ring, it can still overheat. Both 360 and PS3 have this problem.

So do PCs. Heat is the enemy of electronics. This game will make some of your components work very hard and thus generate heat. If you don't have good air flow to and through your system for heat disipation, your system is at risk, Xbox, PS3 OR PC.

I have the original 360 and have no problems running this game. Bit of a stupid assumption to make.
