Now before you go round calling someone ignorant make sure you got all your chickens in the coop. You come back now ya hear.
Wow, maybe you should check your own specs. First off, you confirmed EXACTLY what I said - the processor and GPU are the SAME SPECS. They went with a smaller size (90 nm to 45 nm) and integrated the CPU and GPU onto one chip. You also have an error - the speed did NOT change in the new model for the video chipset, they are still 500 MHz. There is NO performance difference between the original 360 and the S.

No, I just have little tolerance for ignorance and false information. He said he didn't think the original could handle Defiance, which is total BS. And logically, someone stating that is naturally implying the specs are better which is a common fallacy believed by many. Since both machines have the same specs on the CPU and GPU, both can run ANY game equally.

The S model has a smaller CPU that is now integrated with the GPU on one chip (but each are the same specs as the original in terms of performance), better cooling due to the larger fan & better ventilation, integrated Wi-Fi, added dedicated Kinect port and more USB ports. Those are the major differences between the models and none improve performance over the original, just improve reliability and convenience.

Don't get what the problem is. Price of an xbox has just halved. So either wait for a brand new shiny brick with a camera attached or get cheap thing from your local retailer. Last red ring that happened to me ended with a hammer incision to its face, then e-bay helped with a replacement.

I will be upgrading to the shiny brick, but not till well after release. I look forward to a time when that one gets a red ring. At least it comes with a camera so I can stream footage and title it 'first person perspective of an axe attack'... it'll be a youtube sensation.

Defiance has froze my xbox slim about half a dozen times in the past week. Prior to that I think it's maybe frozen once...maybe?!? I'm concerned.

Care to share the source where you heard this information?

Not sure why some of you are having freezes. I have played Defiance since release and it has not froze on me once. Some lag, sure, diconnects yes, but never a freeze.
