    Another failed "Defiance support" experience

After this last patch, the "Frontier Battle Rifle" (the epic Top Notch Toolworks assault rifle) now appears on the Echelon vendor for me instead of the TNT one, and requires Echelon tokens instead of TNT tokens. How can I be certain it's the TNT one, and not an Echelon variant? I bought a Frontier Battle Rifle earlier in the game at a lower EGO level and the name and all the bonuses are exactly identical; and this rifle has Prepared synergy which is a TNT synergy (Echelon = Wrecker). And even if there is a Echelon variant, there is supposed to be a TNT one!

What an obvious dev mistake, I'll just contact Live Support and they will get me the rifle - it's not like I buy them every day, so after I get my rifle, the devs can fix it whenever they fix. (Cue the Charlie Murphy voice in the Rick James skit) Wrong. Wrong. Support said that there were "too many variables" (EGO level, credit cost) to do the transaction for me. Oh, I thought, I have an easy answer for that! Just give me the one on the Echelon vendor, 2,800 EGO and $4,480 - in fact, I'll pay $10k just to make sure I'm not gaining any advantage at all! Again, the answer is no. So, I am looking at the rifle I want on a different vendor than the one it should be, and Trion refuses to take 1 minute and complete an obvious transaction (+rifle, - credits -tokens). In addition, this isn't a "known issue" (translation - no one is trying to fix it). So, now I can't get my favorite gun even though I can afford it because Trion made a mistake and refuses to make a simple fix while we wait for the larger fix.

It just leaves me speechless. Here is a company that just fired 100 developers because it has no money, and that company decides to alienate a client because...well, there is no reason, is there? What possible exploit could be prevented by correcting an obvious error and docking me the proper price?

    /Confused,

    Xynn

They refused to help me when I did not get the Armor for completing all PVP game types. I have asked at least 10 times and no one wants to help. At this point I have given up with support. All I do now is just send bug reports. Support for this game is about as good as Xbox support, abysmal.

I hope that support can help others in the future I think this post needs to be seen by the support staff and mods to show how bad support can be.

They're not giving out in game items for support claims. That's pretty much established. Personally, I think the reasons are pretty obvious, it's to prevent abuse. I highly doubt that complaining on the forum will get that policy changed, and I don't think it should be, and I've lost in game items in server crashes.

That is fine and dandy but I want the item I was supposed to receive. I got the first outfit but after they changed it I was not able to get the new one since I already completed it. There has to be a way they can see that I did complete it before they updated the pursuit. I hope that I can get this resolved eventually. Support seems to be useless most of the time.

Well I am very sorry for those of you that are having trouble with support. I will have to pipe in and say that the few times I have gone to support they have been very helpful and been able to resolve my issues. Maybe mine are not as technical as yours but they have always been polite and have usually been able to assist. There has been a time or 2 that they were not able to do what I was asking.. but what can you do. Some things are above their pay grade. Just wanted to make sure support gets its props as well..

I have gone to support, submitted support tickets for issues several times and have gotten help very quickly each time. One was for an outfit I earned but did not get and they fixed it. Once was for a pursuit I finished but that the game would not give me credit for. In every instance they have helped me, even if it is to acknowledge that my complaint involves a bug and to ask me to submit a bug report.

I know I'm not special and they aren't helping me and not others because they just like me.

I'm not saying people don't have problems with support, but luckily so far for me they have been very good, and far far better than support for any other game I've played.

I don't see why the support shouldn't help and fix problems for people. Even tiny ones as "I cant get my favorite weapon anymore".
    - Defiance online is not a banking application or freaking military simulation. It's a silly video game.
    - Nothing will happen even if somebody for god-know-what-reason scam some ingame item from support. Plus I dont see it happen as they can check validity of your claims pretty easily in their inside system. Or they should be able. Very sad and stupid if they cant / dont know how to.
    - Basicaly the only reason the support even exists is they should do theyr best to fix all kind of issues for players to keep them happy. Do they do it ? Apparently not. Seems like they are not even trying. (I have a couple bad stories with them as well.)
The only result: theyr company will keep loosing players = money.

3rdpig - Can you give some valid reasons for why your opinion is better ?

It's their own fault. Their inconsistency is atrocious. Those first 2 months of support were free orange fiestas. People lied and called all kind of shenanigans and got stuff replaced and done for them. So then when Honest Joe comes along with a legit problem he gets the invincible generic message wall spawned in front of him.
