(PC) Game freeze/System lockup

This problem which has been plaguing some XBox & PS3 users for some time is now affecting PC users too.

I took a break from playing Defiance for about 3-4 weeks in the hope that some of my frustrating issues with this game would be resolved. During this time I played several other games, none of which gave me any of the problems Defiance does (although Rift did crash once, creating a crash report).

Today I patched up Defiance and tried to play again only to discover that (even playing in windowed mode) the game randomly freezes after a few (3 - 20) minutes and completely locks-up my system, forcing me to perform a hard reset.

None of the other games I play have this issue, nor do they Freeze on exit (reported during beta - no response from Trion/Defiance devs). Could possibly be related to DefianceStartup.log errors (reported about 7 weeks ago - one irrelevant response, no queries answered).

The almost complete lack of response to support tickets and forum posts have left me no option but to what I always do with software, with non-existent support, that threatens to damage my hardware. Uninstall.

Between SOE/Planetside2 and TRION/Defiance I have learnt a valuable lesson: Never Pre-purchase a computer game based on Beta testing gameplay experience. Always wait a month or so after release while reading the game's forums to see what problems arise and the support/responses they get.

Not just me thats having this problem then.

Game was fine until a couple of patches ago, I could play for hours and get no crashes.
When it started crashing, I thought it was just the game. Played other games but they crashed too, seemed I had corrupt RAM. Have since replaced the RAM, now running 8gig. Defiance still crashes after 10-15 mins, while other games run fine.
