    Using claim item as storage?

Sorry if I'm blowing up anyone's spot...but curious:

Can you fill up your inventory...then go buy lockboxes from vendors causing the weapons/mods to go into your claim items portion of the store? Then just scrap/sell an item from your inventory and select which weapon/mod you want to move to your inventory?

Seems like you could have infinite storage space.

    Anyone tried doing this?

I thought about trying that, if anyone has done this or is planning on it, let us know how it turned out.

    claim item as storage

I have tried this and it seems to work for me. I have had up to 25 items in claim storage at one time and just pull out the one I want. I just have not figured out if there is a limit to the amount for things you can have in claim storage yet or if there is a time limit on how long things can stay in there.

I tried it back in the early days, had a load of stuff in claim items, mainly from arkfalls.

Being unable to pick up dropped loot is the drawback.

I still have items in the claim area but like someone said you can't pick up items. So I keep at least 5 open slots in my inventory for pick ups

I do I currently have like 260+ items in claimed items. I found this helped when doing side quest so my inventory didn't fill with mods I didn't need/use but didn't want to sell. The down side is that every time some thing drops I have to take time to salvage some thing so I can pick it up.

Awesome feedback guys, thank you. Pretty sure I'm gonna give this a shot. I've just started doing the side missions and finding that it's clogging everything up with mods as Fang mentioned in his post. I'll probably go this route soon. Have over 600K in salvage and always have 50/54 or something in that range. Been selling mods that I later wish I hadn't (able to buy back some but not all).

If anyone has any additional feedback on any other issues they may have run into (scrapping an item or 2 here and there to pick something up shouldn't be a huge issue...I'll just make sure I always have a few "scrappable" weapons each time I decide to max it out). I'll probably just fill it up, use up all my salvage on keycodes, but a bunch of mod boxes and/or lockboxes...and then go back to playing normally after I get a bunch of items in my claims.

    Worth a shot!

I think it's only useful if you buy mod caches, because once you take a gun out of the claim box you can't put it back. Mods are usually only used once or twice, and when you do use them, they don't take up inventory space.
