Do arkfalls. By the time you have enough keys, you will have enough money for the corresponding box (you actually have to do the arkfall and collect on everything you can). Alternately, you take your chances opening mod boxes and selling mods. That's how I pay for my lockbox gambling addiction.

Yea I ve taken some hits doing some gambling. Lesson was learned and now I am only dealing with certain people cause of this.

Or just keep doing emergency missions and loot all items possible and then sell to vendors.
I was broke at the very beginning of the game but find now that i have a nice amount of scrip
Also break down useless weapons in the Ark Salvage menu, that's how i usually get more keys for lockboxes
