How do lock boxes work exactly?

I mean honestly, how? I know you get weapons randomly but whats the precentage on getting an orange weapon? Also whats with the huge jump in keycode price from tier 3 to tier 4 if you have the same amount of chance as all the rest of the boxes? I need some feedback please because this has been on my mind for quite some time.

I've bought tons of 3's got nothing orange all mine have come from 4's. Seems everyone has different luck with different tiers though. My 5 friends I play with regularly have only got orange out of 4's also.

Ive gotten a sheild and a bullcrap lmg orange from Tier 3, and if you as a player get more luck then another player with different boxes, thats bull because then you wouldnt know which way to lean with you know. I just wish these boxes were more balanced out and told what chances you have because people somtimes pay for these boxes with real money and it doesnt effect the chance of getting better weapons. Its a jipp.

Yeah seems completely random to me. The bulk of the oranges I have got are snipers and rocket launchers which kind of sucks. I need a shield and grenade!

I've gotten 3 oranges from tier 2 and 2 from tier 3 never none from tier 4, used to do nothing but tier 4 when I first started, total jank for me. It's completely random, no chance, no %.

Each lockbox has the same chance at a legendary... even the Tier 2.. but whats unique is the are the chances at a legendary..basically

Tier 2 Lockbox = 2 Items of at least Uncommon(Green) = 2 chances at a Legendary (Very Low Percentage) for 8 Keycodes.
Tier 3 Lockbox = 3 Items of at least Uncommon(Green) = 3 chances at a Legendary (Very Low Percentage) for 24 Keycodes.
Tier 4 Lockbox = 4 Items of at least Uncommon(Green) = 4 chances at a Legendary (Very Low Percentage) for 64 Keycodes.

If you bought any one of these Lockboxes ALONE. not accounting for COST, the t4 has the greatest chance at dropping an Orange than the previous tiers... but, the most cost effective imho is to purchase the t2 boxes in BULK.

Here's some math to show what I mean.

You have 64 Keycodes... you do 1 of 3 things.

A)Buy 1 tier 4 lockbox and get 4 chances at a Legendary (4 items in the lockbox, each with the same chance to be Legendary)
B)Buy 2 Tier 3 Lockboxes and 2 Tier 2 Lockbox for 10 chances at a Legendary ( 6[3x2] from the Tier 3, and [2x2] from the Tier 2)
C)Buy 8 Tier 2 Lockboxes and get 16 chances at a Legendary (2 items per Tier 2 Lockbox)

So, it's my honest belief that buying Tier 2's in bulk will yield a great chance at Legendaries for less Keys over all.

Tier 4 is garbage to be honest, all purples. I got rid of the thoughts of purchasing purples and so my clan mates don't buy tier 4's either. Got most oranges from tier 3's.

This's how I looked at it myself, and Have gotten more oranges in tier 2 than any other. I even switch it up all the time.
