The irony is, you may have "quit" what might be the ideal kind of game for you.

You already own it, so you've made the only purchase you really need to in order to keep playing it online from now on, either alone or with those friends. No subscription required, certainly nothing in the cash shop needed in order to really impact your gameplay, and even some of what's going to be released in the DLC will be available to you, assuming at least one of those friends buys the DLC and invites you along.

Seriously, the initial purchase of the base game is ALL that's required. Another $30-$40 for the inclusive DLC season pass seems reasonable to many of us also, but you can skip that if you don't agree. You can completely skip 'bits' and the cash shop, since there's nothing there that impacts gameplay that you can't get otherwise in the course of just playing the darn game. Extra inventory and fancy hats are fun, but hardly necessary. And lots of us would never consider spending actual money for lockboxes we get soon enough anyway. I've been playing since day 1 and wouldn't dream of buying boosts or boxes. It's just not necessary at all. (I confess that I do enjoy a fancy hat from time to time however.)

Defiance is a casual game that's about as easy on your schedule and your wallet as you can get, for the amount of drop-in/drop-out online fun it offers. You seem to enjoy the gameplay and you already own it, so play how you like, when you like.

Defiance: regardless of the money I've thrown at it, will not make me the MASTER

So, it is NOT a free 2 play game. Some of the people in my guild have no problem throwing $65.00 a week into this game, and have no problem acquiring good gear and weapons because of it...but I have kids...4 in fact. I can not afford to spew out cash like a madman on this game if I want to keep my kids fed. So even thoe I would LOVE to continue playing, I can not afford to. IF this game decided to go TRUE F2P, or went subscription based, I would gladly pay $15.00 a month to play...but as it....I can't justify the cost/time cost.
now can you quit using the forums, that would be perfect.
