As far as I can tell...this game Is a hybrid....A TRUE free-2-play game requires no cash to play...and any cash spent does not overpower your toon..it just speeds up your progress. In this game, you are required to fork out cash to buy/install the game..and after a certain point, you must spend cash to upgrade your gear and weapons to progress further... So, it is NOT a free 2 play game.

False. That is how they bill Free 2 Play games, but in truth cash is needed. Over time they will try to force you to spend by making it very difficult to play w/o game shop item(s). People often counter this by cheating.

False. I have found no need to spend to level up. Yet.... However, see my first quote. At some point they will try to force game shop purchases. Maybe they already have: Inventory Space.

The only thing I've felt I had to get was more inventory space but that's a convenience buy & isn't needed to play the game.

I bought the game for £20 & I've spent £6 on bits, the amount of hours I've spent playing this game since it come out I already feel I've had my moneys worth.

1. Defiance is BUY to play. It has never been free to play. Buy to play means you buy it and don't pay anything else to play it.
Free to play means you don't pay anything to download it or play it.
2. You do not have to spend money to upgrade your gear and weapons? .....

So what is the problem here?
