Perhaps the Forum Mods should create a Sticky Thread, at the very top of each platform's (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) General Section, where the URL in the thread links directly to that platform's Trade section. SO, at the very top of General - Xbox 360 the first thread would be "Xbox 360 Item Trade" and it would link to http://forums.defiance.com/forumdisplay.php?44-Xbox-360 . People would basically see the following at the very top of General - Xbox 360 - Xbox 360 Item Trade

Granted, this wouldn't prevent all new buying / selling / trading specific threads from being created in General - Xbox 360 but it would more than likely prevent many, and the Forum Mods would spend less time moving threads to the more appropriate section.

I am not trying to prevent the threads being listed here (however the first few flamers thought that I was and even told me what my purpose was) but there are people that have no idea how to navigate the forums, so a sticky thread would be good. These new forum users have the right to know that they can get a better audience for their buying/selling/trading

Welcome to the official Defiance Community!

These forums are the place for the official Defiance Community to come together to exchange information, get the latest news, share community-created content, interact with the Defiance Community and Development Teams, and discuss the game and television show Defiance with other members of the community.

We are committed to making this a fun, diverse, and welcoming environment for all Defiance community members and guests. To keep these forums fun for everyone, we strive to maintain mature, constructive conversations and ask you to help us by doing the same. With that goal in mind, we have laid out a few simple rules and suggestions in accordance with the Terms of Use that we expect our community members to follow. Violating any of these rules can lead to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the permanent closure of your Defiance forum account. Enforcement and application of these rules will be at the sole discretion of Trion World, Inc. and authorized members of the Defiance Community Management Team.

Examples of non-constructive discussion include:

- Spam posts that lack meaningful content and do not add to the conversation: This includes: in before lock, +1, first, /10char, etc.
- Cross-forum posting: Posting the same discussion, link, or guild recruitment repeatedly and across numerous forums in an attempt to gain a wider audience or more attention. This splits a discussion across the boards rather than allowing for one centralized discussion that is easily read by all.
- Naming & Shaming
- Disruption of Official Posts: These threads are created by the Devs, Community Team, or other Trion employees in an attempt to gather feedback or provide information to players. Most times these threads will be heavily moderated, and any off-topic posts will be removed.
- Demands/Polls/Petitions

By accepting the Trion Worlds, Inc. Terms of Use, you have agreed to follow these existing rules and guidelines. As such, please note that being banned from the game will also result in the removal of the posting privileges from the associated forum account.

Please note that these rules may change at any time at the sole discretion of Trion Worlds, Inc. or the Defiance Community Management Team. This list is not exhaustive and we reserve the right to modify or remove any forum content at out discretion. As these guidelines may not include all manner of offensive behavior, the forum moderators shall have full discretion to address any activity that they feel is inappropriate. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis. Be aware that various areas or posts within these forums may have additional rules specific to the conversation located therein.

Forums Code of Conduct

Respect each other: It's really important to be respectful to all community members. It's fine to debate and argue, but don't insult, use name-calling, or troll other members to try to get your point across. Don't call people out, don't post obvious troll threads, and try your hardest not to start flame wars. We all love games and we all have strong opinions. Please remember that, and respect each other. Keep in mind that moderators and administrators of this site are members of the community, too!
Abusive and Disparaging Comments Directed at Trion Employees: We always want to hear your thoughts on Defiance, and it’s okay to make your opinions known on the forums when it comes to gameplay. It is not, however, okay to use disparaging or abusive language to bash Trion devs, moderators, and employees. These posts will be removed, and this is considered to be a very serious offense.

Account Trading/Selling: Advertising the sale or trade of your Defiance characters once the game is released is strictly forbidden, as this is a violation of our Terms of Use. Advertising that you are looking for an account to purchase is also unacceptable behavior. This includes forum posts and links to auction sites or marketplaces. Customer Support will be notified immediately of any such activity.

Advertising: If you have a fan site or a guild site, by all means let the Defiance community know about it, but advertisements and promotions that are unrelated to Defiance do not belong on our forums. This includes promoting other games, outside services, and anything that would net you monetary gain.

Bashing and Defamatory Comments: Please do not bash other individuals, groups, guilds, or even other companies on our forums. Doing so is not constructive, and we do not feel this is in the spirit of our game or community.

Bypassing a Ban: Please do not create secondary accounts in order to post on the forums when your account has been banned. Any accounts linked by IP to an account on suspension will also be banned.

Calling Out Others in Thread Titles: Please do not create threads with titles that are directed at specific members of the Defiance Development Team or community. These threads will be closed, removed, or at very least the thread title edited to remove the individual's name. This includes signatures and avatars created for the same purpose.

Copyrighted Names and Material: We cannot allow copyright protected names on our forums. Copyrighted names are generally well known original character names from books, movies, or games. Also, we do not allow discussion about illegal distribution or use of copyrighted material, such as private game servers.

Cursing and Profanity: We do not allow cursing or profanity on our forums, and do have a profanity filter in place for that very reason. Please do not purposefully circumvent our forum profanity filter or otherwise curse or use profanity on our forums.

Demands and Threats: It’s okay to make requests and suggestions on our forums, but we do not feel it is constructive to make demands or threats. Real-life threat of violence are taken very seriously and not tolerated on our forums.

Discussing Disciplinary Actions: We understand that sometimes people may have questions or concerns about a moderation disciplinary action, or wish to appeal a warning or infraction. We’re happy to discuss and review specific moderation actions, but we ask that you please email us at community@defiance.com to do so. We do not allow discussion of specific moderation actions on our forums. Also, please remember to be respectful to the Defiance Moderation Team. They are doing their best to make your experience on the official Defiance forums a great one.

Disregarding the Instructions of the Community Team: Receiving a warning and/or infraction and then repeating the same behavior within a short period of time is considered to be disregarding the instructions or directions of a Community Team member. This is a serious offense and is weighted heavier than if one were to receive another infraction for the same offense.

Exploits and Hacks: Exploits, hacks, or any behavior that gives a player an unfair advantage are detrimental to the spirit of the game. We understand that sometimes you may wish to bring these matters to our attention, however doing so only informs others who might take advantage of such exploits on how they can be implemented. Any posts involving hacks or exploits will be removed from the Defiance forums. If you encounter such activity, please file an in-game ticket with a GM.

Flaming: It’s acceptable to disagree and debate a topic, but we ask that you keep disagreements civil, constructive and on-topic. Debate and discuss the post content and discussion topic, and refrain from personal comments about those participating in the thread.

God Modding: We recognize and encourage the use of role-playing within our community; however, it is not okay to force someone's character into situations they have not agreed to. If you wish to write a story about, or role-play with, another person's character, we ask that you get permission from that individual first. Failure to do this is considered “God Modding” and is not allowed within the Defiance forums.

Goodbye/Quitting Threads: Goodbye/quitting threads rarely end well, so we do have a policy of reading the feedback in them and closing them. For the civility and constructiveness of the forums, we ask you to please keep your goodbyes to private messages or in-game.

Hate Speech: Hate speech is defined as hateful or prejudice comments, slurs, or statements promoting intolerance directed at others based on their culture, race, gender, religion, lifestyle, or any other personally identifying factors. We promote a welcoming atmosphere for all in the official Defiance community, and do not tolerate hate speech. Hate speech is considered to be a very serious offense, and anyone found to have participated in such actions will have their account temporarily suspended from the Defiance forums and be given a final warning. Further violations of this nature will result in the account receiving a permanent ban.

Impersonation: Impersonating a Trion employee or anyone else (such as another community member or a celebrity) is strictly forbidden. Impersonation includes, but is not limited to using official avatars, misleading signatures and signature files, posts claiming you are someone who you are not, and forging moderator posts or closures. We take impersonation attempts very seriously, and this should not be done, even if it is meant in jest.

Inappropriate Content: Some topics have no place on our forums because they are volatile, obscene, vulgar, illegal or simply inappropriate. This includes, but is not limited to topics about religion, politics, pornography and other sexually explicit topics, illegal substances and activities, tasteless material, and copyright-protected material to which you do not own the rights (piracy). These same guidelines also apply to signatures and signature files.

Inciting Others to Violate the Code of Conduct: Posting that others should spam forums or engage in other behavior that would violate the Code of Conduct in order to draw attention or cause general mayhem.

Malicious Links: Please do not post malicious links on our forums. This includes browser hijackers, key-loggers, links to pornographic material, and links to platinum seller/power-leveling service sites, and private server sites.

Naming and Shaming: We do not allow “naming and shaming” posts or threads on our forums. “Naming and shaming” is the act of publicly naming someone and accusing them of something, or ridiculing them. We feel that these posts and threads can be greatly abused and very harmful to the community. We also don't feel that publicly calling out or accusing others by name on our forums is in spirit of the game or our community. As with plat sellers, please report these individuals in-game via the Support Center interface.

Personal Information: Do not post personal information. Not only should you be careful when telling others personal details about yourself, you should never post personal information about others. We consider this to be a very serious offense. Always be safe when it comes to your personal information. Never share info such as your account name, home address, instant messenger contacts, or even emails in an open forum.

Spamming: Please do not post spam on our forums. Spam and the act of spamming includes posting the same message more than once, posting messages with no real content, posting messages or images large enough to disrupt the normal flow of conversation and reposting material that has been deleted by a member of the Community Team.

Spreading False Info About Trion: We do not tolerate the deliberate and malicious spreading of false info about Trion. Everyone makes mistakes, and that is not what this is referring to, but going out of your way to spread harmful or malicious rumors about Trion or Defiance is never okay to do on our forums.

Thread Bumping: Please do not bump threads simply for the sake of bumping them. This is considered spam since it does not add to the discussion in a constructive or meaningful way. We understand that everyone wants to keep their discussion active and visible, but we encourage you to post meaningful and constructive content instead of “Bump!” posts.

Trolling or Baiting: Trolling is defined as something that is posted for shock value, to provoke conflict, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is not acceptable. If you don't have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we recommend you refrain from posting in that one and find another discussion to participate in instead.

Use the Search Function: Please help us keep discussions as consolidated as possible by using the search function before you create a thread to see if there is already an ongoing discussion about the topic you’re interested in talking about.

The rules above cover 98% of situations that we will run across on our forums, and the other 2% are left to Community Team’s discretion. If we feel that anything in a post is inappropriate for our forums, for any reason, we do reserve the right to take appropriate actions for the overall good of the Defiance community, even if it's not specifically mentioned in our forum Code of Conduct. In a nutshell, please be respectful, constructive, and civil at all times while on the official Defiance forums.

Have fun! These forums are a friendly place with a lot of really great players, and we're glad you've chosen to spend time with us. Remember, we're all here to discuss Defiance and have a good time.
