Mod's are now salvageable again.... so no reason for the delete option.

Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

What about auto-loot, and salvage all thresholds that you set to, defaults at Whites Only.

I played a game on the iphone where you could set a loot threshold and anytime you looted say lower than a blue item it was automatically broken down. That could be the **** too.

Even the ability to scroll through your inventory in reverse would be nice. I dread having to salvage a bunch of grenades because you scroll all the way down to the bottom, salvage, then have to scroll all the way down again...what a pain in the ***.

While I don't want to spend any more money at the moment, I do agree - this is the biggest turn off for me in the game now.

You can. At the top of the page there are headings you can use called Type, LVL, and Name. You can go to each and click on to reverse sort and click again to change back to the top. Took me awhile to figure that out. Works in selling to vendors too. And when I finally figured it out, I'd just about had enough of going through over 200 items repeatedly to salvage the 15 white and green grenades I had. Being able to go right to grenades really helped. For selling and salvaging sorting by name is a great help too, so I can easily compare what I have and get rid of duplicates or decide which version to keep.
