Not going to pre-order or look into it until a full review from someone I can relate to or I get into the ps3 beta that I signed up for. It looks good but looks and gameplay can be completely different when you're the one in control.

Also. This is not going to be like v1.0 at all. That version was a complete failure and they stopped all work on it to remake it. I am sure FFXIV v2.0 will be much better than it's original flop.

I played FFXIV during the bad phase. It really was lacking and wanting. When it went F2P and relaunched as version 1.0 I was very impressed it the game, changes made and leaps forward the new team had taken. Alpha tested and currently a Beta tester for ARR and lemme tell ya it's friggin amazing, from a pc/laptop point of view. Unsure about PS3 version as of yet. June 14th phase 3 of beta testing begins and the PS3 beta is supposed to open somewhere around there as well. All in all, very happy with the new build and looking forward to August 27th and the full launch of the game.

I was hyped for it, but then I sawthat it was a monthly fee of $14 per. I'll wait and see if the PS+ members get a discount. Getting furloughed so the monthly fee just kills it until September. I will definitely stick with Defiance!

Since MMO just means Massive Multiplayer Online, Defiance fits that definition. I think you are confusing MMO with MMORPG. Defiance has some RPG-like elements but is closer to Borderlands than Skyrim. Also, FFXIV had some major issues when it was first released. The issues got so bad that Square Enix shut it down and went back to the drawing board. Hopefully, when FFXIV re-launches, a majority of the issues that plagued it originally will have been resolved. I applied to be a FFXIV Beta tester (on PS3) but have not heard anything as of yet. I plan on giving the game a try. Whether or not I stick with FFXIV will depend upon how it is. People can complain about Defiance all they want, but at least there is no monthly fee for Defiance. Hopefully, Square Enix will offer some sort of discount if you pay for several months in advance. AFAIK, the basic monthly fee is $12.99 USD.

yea i mean what is up with that??? i thought the idea was to get ppl to buy the game not send them running for the hills with BS Monthly Subscription RIGHT EVERYONE??? idk but if they keep that BSSub Crap the beta iz as far as i will go....... they are asking for too much now........... they should put Monthly Subs on games that suck in my opinion....... oh wait then it will too easy just to return or throw away the Crap and Forget About "THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION"... just had to add this but 1 of the main reasons why i left the XBOX 360 ALONE was that PSN is FREE..... NO MONTHLY SUB NOW HERE THEY ARE DOING IT YET AGAIN TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAME SERIES THEY SUCK FOR THAT....... THATS WHY I ONLY PLAYED FINAL FANTASY 11 ONLINE FOR 2MONTHS BCUZ OF THAT BS MONTLY SUB CRAP...... MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION NEED TO BE BANNED OR BOYCOTTED

I payed and played ffxi for 6 years payed for multiple server transfers. I really want to play the game just don't know if I can get myself to pay a subscription again. I'm still angry for paying for a year of Swtor and that game was horrible.

actually great game till they killed it by going ftp!! They screwed all their customers
