SAW & BMG.
If I were to do it again I'd use something else in place of the SAW but I did it already so I digress.
3 round burst shotgun, no ego powers, easy.
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
Nim? You mean Sephiroth there? I swear, I thought I'd wandered into a Final Fantasy game by accident.
I would have wondered who the hell dragon dude with the super powers was and why he was pissed off, but since the game didn't seem to care I guess there was no reason for me to. Meh, killed him with the unmoded green AR I happened to be using at the time. Hasta la vista, Ganon, or whatever the hell your name was, as cannon fodder goes you were mildly annoying, if depressingly unmemorable.
Honestly I was surprised at how easy -- if, granted, tedious and ridiculously glitchy -- a fight it was after all the forum threads about it. I guess I can see how if you haven't played a lot of these sorts of games it could be a shock. The fight does just seem like they pulled it out of another game, it doesn't fit Defiance as you've played it up to that point at all. But for gaming in general it's all pretty standard stuff, right up to the tiresome "Boss who has to die three times" cliche.
I used an SMG with siphon. It felt perfect for the fight. I also threw a lot of frag grenades. I believe the minimum damage on my grenades was just over 1400 so they helped quite a bit.
I must have really taken my time with the story. I was over 1000 ego before facing Nim. I used an all cloak spec (reduced recharge, extended up-time etc). No health perks, etc. Main weapon was an LMG. Shield is a 2.75 second delay quick charge (forget the name).
Beat him first try. It's all in the shield!
I've used every weapon under the sun that I could get a hold of and my best strategy so far is the EMC rifle and a shotgun, perfect combo for me. BMG took way too long and wasn't good for my playstyle, but to each his/her own. I prefer the rifle/shotgun combo. Worked with all 4 toons against him.
1 toon was at 290 ego, and only died once on the second fight with her.
2 toons were in the 340 ego range and died on the first fight a few times
1 toon was 540 ego and didn't die at all.
Overcharge
Primary: Grind Fragger
Secondary: EMC service rifle
I used a ground pounder
a survivalist rifle and fragsurge grenades
