I doubt all of it would be replaced, but like I said Cass's voice is clearly two different people in the PS3 beta, and if this build is two months old they had plenty of time to re-record some things.

Ok try to understand this. This beta was submited to microsoft months in advance so that it would get certified to DL. which means we are play 2-3 month old content. so while weve been waiting for this beta to come put AND while weve been playing it the devs have probably fixed half these bugs already before we even started playing. So the voice acting should be fixed already along with other things this is a beta the main purpose is so we can give back feedback on certain things i.e. weapons, quest details, skills, matchmaking etc. not the voice acting. You really think a company like TRION would screw everyone over like that? They fought tooth and nail with Microsoft to get an extended beta time because the community complained so much about. And even though everyone blamed trion for the short beta they still fought get us an extended beta. So sit back enjoy whats available and don't worry trion knows what there doing.

What's sad is that there are entire languages created for this game/show. Instead of the dumb firefly/farscape 'swear words only' gimmick, have characters break into their native language when they get mad and start spewing profanity in an alien language. Players who listen closely might be able to pick up some of the meaning and feel special. It'd be neat!

Personally, I don't think the voice acting is so bad. I don't know about the PS3 version, I'm on PC, but if the voice acting isn't flat-out bad, I tend not to mind. That's just the nature of the beast. Even the actual actors from the show sounded a bit corny, maybe there are different writing teams.

You don't need to get defensive about Trion, I'm sure they're trying their best, after all the better they do the more money they get and the longer the game can run. But where from mount Sinai doth the commandment come that say thou art not to talk about the voice acting? No one's blaming no one for nothin.

There was no need for alien languages in Firefly/Serenity because there were no aliens. The characters would sometimes speak chinese (badly) because english and chinese were the dominant languages.

Well now we have an entire alien language, so why not do more with it??

I agree. The writing team's responsibility is to make this more immersive than what we have in the beta. It's not a particularly easy thing to do outside of cutscenes and better voice acting. There may be more that just isn't present in the beta build we have access to, so i'm reserving judgement, suffice to say the final VO's already present in the beta are still a little stiff and the characters do appear to be somewhat generic. The way shtako, jekk, and jaja are pronounced leaves something to be desired; definitely doesn't sound like a foreign language but something flatly read off a script.

Didn't mean to sound deffensive just a little annoying now that everyone assumes the game will come out like this even though plenty of people replied to posts like this explaining the build we are playing is 2-3 months old. Just i figured that since the build came put 2-3 months ago people would understand that some things were playing now were probably fixed.

Anyways though even if the voice acting stayed this way it wouldnt really phase me.

I understand, but the word itself feels awkward "Shtako". not to mention every time i hear Cass say "Ja-Ja" I think Zha-zha Gabor (and her ominous floating head XD)

Anyone one else worried EGO is going to end up like Navi?
