I don’t think that would fix the problem. Have you actually read those books? I have.. that is some dark twisted stuff. In my experience it’s the ones that follow those books to the letter that are the fanatics. The ones that cherry pick the sunny parts seem to be more sane.

Probably their advertisers require it. Don't see many commercials that don't somehow bring up the idea.
I can live with it or without it in the show. I understand that they're trying to present situations where different intelligent species coexist and interact, and stuff would just naturally happen. The show is heavy on interspecies relationships of all kinds. It's a fine line, they could go to far with it too and the last show verged on it imo. Some things are better in moderation.
I'd hoped the show would have had elements to it that required players to do something in the game for some reward. Not big rewards, just costume and titles stuff that could only be obtained within an hour of the show that way. Not enough cross action between the game and the show, I had definitely been led to expect much more than what I've seen.
My forum handle "Skeety" was selected to associate with an internationally respected sport. Flying Arkfall bugs are even more fun!
They need more things that relate to the game...like fighting and shooting guns.
I know that Defiance isint has hell redden as the Bay Area but come on. There are enough dramas on TV. Brothers in Arms was the best episode yet. And the good guys seemed to be not that good but neutral in that they do what they gotta do. We need more of that.
It hasn't really bothered me apart from the female on female scene from the last one which on principle of my beliefs, I am against. Other than that, the sex they have shown hasn't really been over the top explicit, So I've largely been able to ignore it.
But it really seems to me like they are just putting it in there just to put it in there. I get a couple of times to show important relationships. But every episode?
