Mistakenly buying a Tier 3 lockbox with bits....

Like I said I agree there is room for improvement such as a confirmation button. But again.. not using common sense was the real problem, pay attention to what you do, especially when you are trying to buy something in a game or RL.
Heck the same.. common sense applies when you are buying a random item for scripts, sourcekeys, gold, platina or what every IG corrency ANY game has.

I agree with Pantham and others that point out the same thoughts. I know that the discount on bits for larger purchases of them are incentive to have more than needed but it's not a bad idea to only buy what you will spend right then and there (the discount is nice but isn't really that huge). People can also go into their Trion account and remove their payment method at any time, and put it back only during times when it's intended to actually do a purchase - which has obvious security benefits too. I've got 1k of bits sitting that I really should spend so I'm a hypocrite, but I don't have an active payment method until I restore it again and only for as long as needed.

Who hasn't any of this happened to? But when you say, got a speeding ticket, did you tell the cop that you weren't paying attention and the state is the one to blame because the sign isn't flashing neon colors and shooting out fireworks. That's basically what the OP did here, he said he wasn't paying attention and its Trions fault. I agree having the option to buy with bits on the lockboxes is a little ridiculous, they should keep any spending of real money to strictly the store. I'm willing to bet the only reason the option is even there is because they were thinking more people would be happier with them, getting better loot than what we currently get, and it was designed as a shortcut, hence why there is no confirmation, its a quick buy thing. Most of the menu navigations are done by sheer habit, most of us know you hit X at the box, scroll down however many times to get to the box you want, hit A, go up 2 times to get to the resource option... if they changed the layout and he did it, then he would have a point. But that's not the case, nothing has changed since day 1... So for anyone to say anyone bought anything on accident because they weren't paying attention, or like your example, hurrying to hit an Arkfall, after doing the same thing for the past few months, and blaming the company for it, is ridiculous. Besides, why would you be in any hurry to do anything in a video game when you know there's real world money involved, it's a video game.

At the grocery store they don't tell you the price (confirmation)? They don't ask you if that will be paid by cash, debit, or credit card? (confirmation again). You sir need to go to a different grocery store All vendors in a game or in real life should let you know the price of something at that point i have the option to be like "oh thats too much money please CANCEL these objects/items"

Yes, they do show you a total...in this case you're buying one item at a time with the price right in front of you... And as far as confirming payment, they do ask "cash" or "credit", kind of similar to the game asking you "bits" or "resources"

That's a great idea! I'm not sure it would work for console though. I think PS3 uses your Playstation Network payment method, and Xbox uses your payment method you have for buying everything with them. It sounds like a great idea for PC though. It's not like you need a payment method on hand all the time when there isn't a subscription.

Thanks myll eric. Glad to see a Dev read this. I have recieved my items just fine. However there has been times when I accidentally purchase lock boxes with bits. Yes it is my own fault for rushing. But could we please get a confirmation yes or no when dealing with bits.

I did the same thing but I bought a tier 1 with bits. They could at least give a warning message.
