So I got this beta last night. Like the lucky few, I have the sign in error (amazing error is it not?) and spend 2-3 hours signing in. Finally get in and have an awesome time and after about 5 to 6 hours I get off and turn off my xbox. I had hoped that by the time I got on the sign in problem would be gone, but behold the problem still exists. Fortunately a silver lining appears and I hear the servers will be down for maintenance and figure they will solve this curse that haunts us. I get back on and I am stuck for two hours again attempting to sign in. I look on these forums to see some kind of solution and if there was any fix. My conclusion has been that nothing has been done about this, the people who run these forms have yet to notify us of a solution (by which I mean they will patch and no having to delete profile, clear cache, etc.), and that people who have this problem are basically getting a middle finger. I also notice that the "beta" excuse has been used for this. I imagine that even when betas are released that the developers should at least test to make sure there are no sign in mishaps such as this. The game is good and I wish that those who are cursed like I am with this sign in problem will break through. All I did was continue to try to sign in and stayed patient and it payed off. To those who see this and try to tell me otherwise. I will believe it when I see it. Overall I hope this sums up the feeling of those who feel the lack of customer support.

I had the sign in error problem yesterday on my xbox for about an hour. Luckily I managed to fix it by signing out and back in at the main menu (Part that has a massive DEFIANCE logo and push start message). So if anyone also has this problem try that, I can't promise that it will work for you but it did for me. I hope that this helps.

Hmmmmm still doesnt work for me. When I click A for the patch I feel like it never even patched? if that makes sense It just goes to the next screen. Also was reading on here that it lets you choose a storage device, I have had no option on any of the screens to do so. Would really appreciate a reply back, thanks!

the storage device pops up when you playing a regular xbox game. it come up from xbox it self, it should pop up in defiance, try reloading the game

yeah I understand that part but it never pops up. what screen should it pop up on? the start button screen, user license screen, patch notes screen? also like I said before when I push A to patch I see what looks a patch downloader but it is on my screen for like half a second and then It says push A again to play as if it already patched, so I push A and little blueish green letters say starting game.. then loading and the error screen. Sorry for saying it step by step just would really like to play this game tonight, and nerd out with the rest of you guys!

For me the storage selection screen doesn't show up, I just push start, patch and play. My patch screen only shows up for a second aswell then I wait to connect and after that I choose a character.

I haven't had a problem logging sense the beta started but idk.

You'd think the devs would be all over these forums, investigating issues and trying to get it sorted. I certainly hope this is not a sign of future support.

DEFIANCE has already "gone gold" with a release or April 2nd. Yes this is a BETA (not really serving a purpose other than PR... which is bad at this point), because there version on disc is already set, and there is no time for any issues discovered in the beta to be addressed in a day 1 patch (see MICROSOFT cert schedule for patches).

In particular the officially unaddressed "sign in" problem is the most egregious. If any of the larger issues exist in the final version, then expect a huge public backlash and a dead community.
