There's no reason to feel embarrassed! The greatest display of courage is knowing when to ask for help. Panic attacks are no joke, nor is chest pains from it. Some of the best advice I can offer if you don't mind too much since I don't know you yet as well as the others, is the more you understand how panic works, the easier it gets to deal with it. Two tools that were miracles for me, was a program you can order online called the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety, and good people in my life to support me. Learning from the program when I ordered it literally saved my life. Having the tools to deal with it, the feeling, the physical symptoms all helped immensely. I went from being agoraphobic and not being able to leave my house to even get the mail, to out and about with only mild concerns if its somewhere far or unfamiliar. But for sure, reach out to people who have or have had panic attacks. For me, anxiety and all the junk that goes with it feels like the loneliest disease out there sometimes. Just remember. You can't die from panic attacks, and the past can't be changed. Focus on the day to day and you will get better with time and understanding. <3
