Its a good place to get 5k kills for your weapons, the skitterlings spawn infinite if you don't damage the crystal to much.

I could think of much better places to get the 5k kills for weapons

It's unfortunate that people do this because really it's just wasting their time as well as everyone else's. I remember when Defiance was relatively new, Arkfalls took about 10 minutes LESS to complete...ever since the people obsessing over their dumbass pursuits (OH WOW 5 EGO POINTS) the arkfalls are just this slog now. I mean, there's no excuse for a crystal arkfall taking nearly 15 minutes just to get to the boss phase when the servers are full.
If people just played properly, you'd be getting 1)more weapon EXP 2)more salvage 3)more exp 4)more loot [which is basically salvage as all] 5) faster server-wide spawning of arkfalls. But whatever....people are dumb.

Head to ark fall, sees its the RED crystals, ignore ark fall and do other stuff. (as there will always be someone stuffing it)
Head to ark fall, see its the BLUE crystals, jump in and burn the ark fall

So do you just pick the blues ones? Or try to do the red ones too?

Yeah I do, but the arkfalls take forever when scrubs like youself kill all the skitterlings.

Or you can just do emergencies and missions for the pusuits. I've gotten it on multiple weapons and never ruined peoples arkfalls for it. Just play the game there's enemies everywhere. You don't have to make arkfalls take twice as long for 50 other people trying to play to accomplish a stupid pusuit that can be done anywhere in a place that only affects you

And yeah the 2500 enemies at arkfalls. Guess what that can be accomplished on any enemy. Doesnt mean you have to hit the one enemy of the group that makes things go faster. Most people do arkfalls for keycodes and salvage meaning they want it to go as fast as possible so they can get it done and go to the next one actually earning their stuff in a reasonable amount of time. If a major arkfall takes more than 10 minutes it's a waste of time. You could earn faster in co-ops

Sad to say that the combination of this attitude, a lack of social tools, and a depressingly long list of bad design decisions is leading to Defiance having one of the most wretchedly bottom-scraping playerbases of any MMO I've ever played.

And given how nasty some of them are, that's truly depressing.

Something tells me you have not played Diablo 3 or visited their forums.
