Leveling up weapons?

I am closing in on an EGO Rating of 1,500 and I mainly use an Assasult Rifle and sniper when i need the long range but I have only been able to get to level 6 with my assault rifles even though thats what I use every single day. I was wondering if there are any tricks to leveling it up quicker because I am trying to 100% all of the achievements and I can tell that the weapon rank of 20 achievement is going to take FOREVER


P.S. I know that a gun can only earn so much exp before it stops leveling that class for you so its not that, and also Im not looking for any kind of glitches or cheats. Just a quicker way of farming weapon xp because it levels way too slow even with the boost I have

theres a few more places to level up your weapons, in case you get bored doing the same thing over and over..

and the new Seige's they added work good as well for exp on a weapon.

I have heard of that but isnt that just a side mission? if so im screwed ive done every single mission.

I have noticed that since every point of damage counts towards the overall score. As an example I've seen this with bolt snipers(that im currently working on) I lvled a lot quicker by hitting crits...... 4900 for a head shot goes a long way then hitting a hell bug warrior for 44 lol so try choosing human or lightly shielded targets and that will help lvl quicker

Fight Forges. and also sieges seem to give very good weapon xp. I wish they appeared more often

Make sure you are not using a weapon that has fully ranked up. I had this issue for a while before discovering that there is two separate types of weapon experience.

There is the weapon itself that has one level.

Then you have your weapon skill experience which has the 20 ranks.

If you are using a weapon that has maxed out it's experience, then further using this weapon will not get you any further weapon skill experience. So keep a couple of weapons for whichever weapons skill you want to level up and you like the stats of, and when you finish one reset its mastery points in the salvage matrix. Now it does cost a bit of ark salvage the first time (mostly for the orange and purples), but after that first reset it costs considerably less.

Just make sure to keep using different weapons until you hit max rank with that weapon skill. But also keep in mind that every time you level a weapon up you get 4 ego rating.

Is this true ? ive never heard that before or seen it anywhere but i do keep getting Ego ratings suddenly and never knew where it was coming from

I know you get ego rating from leveling your weapon skill, but from maxing guns out them selves I dont think so. I could be wrong tho.

Raising your weapon skill raises your EGO rating by 4. Maxing out the exp on a gun gives the gun a bonus and prevents that gun from raising your weapon skill(until you reset it).
