Here is a reason you should be buying them from places the developer says it's ok to purchase from. You don't know if they were obtained legally or not and if not, and your account could be in jeopardy.

Steam was a great choice for me. Got all of my games collected there, only ~420kr(swedish krona) a.k.a 49euro

+ if more people ore-order it there will be more rewards.

I canceled my preorder and now I'm bummed. Was really looking forward to having fun with Defiance, but if I find that I am trying to talk myself into logging in and playing then the game isn't for me at this point and time. I will keep an eye on Defiance and I may pick it up in a few weeks/months after release.

P.S. This is the first time I've canceled a preorder for an MMO

Yes tehre are those risks - of fake cards. But i didnt just buy blindly. I did check and search actual reviews/info from players who haev been using the site. Majority of the games are based of actual box copies, scanned in (thats how they make profit - they keep the extra goodies, resell them etc and all you get is the cheaper key). Plus i used paypal so ether way its quite easy to actually reverse the transaction there if anything would happen.

So the problem would rather be the suppliers to them not the site itself.
But since nearest lowest offer available at least here was above 40€.. .well wallet decides (with the extra credits i had for purchasing previous games + discount cupon, i got it for 25€ - i simply wouldnt have preordered at all if the cheapest would have been 40+).

Not tellign everyoen to use it - for most steam is better option - but some who might find the price tag too high and look for a budget alternative, it might help.
